Hi

I'm looking for a cordless landline phone with power backup which would work normally even during a power failure.

I found Panasonic 3615bx as one of the recommendations.

Anyone here using it? If so, reviews plz.

Any other recommendations?

I was about to create thread for same too.

Even I am interested in cordless landline phone (MTNL Mumbai)

I would want following in order of importance:
  1. Good range with clear voice (practically 15-20 meter atleast)
  2. Ring shud be loud enough to be heard behind closed door
  3. Good battery life
  4. Caller ID
  5. Call logs (atleast missed call logs)
  6. Address book (optional as landline is not used much)
Thats probably enough requirements that I can think of

Will add more as I remember.

Didnt know about DECT6 but its way too expensive anyway!

All modesl above 4k and my budget is 2k. (hardly use landline)

that's the thing. if you get a regular handset and you have a wireless router at your place, the speeds and the network quality would degrade massively.

@Vedant tried with a non-dect6 cordless recently. his network suffered even when landline was not in used.

My wifi router is about 10m far from place where I plan to put cordless.

Does it affect even if "channel" is set to auto?

Wouldnt router and cordless phone auto-select - non-interfering channel?

not an expert on the field 😛 i bought a dect6 after reading about the frequency issue few years ago and my wireless network has been fine with it. i have no personal experience with non-dect6 phones as the last time i used one, i do not think i had an internet connection at home!

maybe someone else would be able to guide better.

Me too postponed the purchase of cordless coz of wifi interference as my budget is <2000

@ admin Which brand dect6 have you bought? Price?

I guess u notice speed difference once u have ISP line with high speed.

But if ISP speed is 1 or 2mbps and your router is capable of 100mbps WiFi speed then interference from phone would hardly make any difference.

You wud notice difference in LAN to LAN traffic (or mobile to mobile speed via app like Xender or Shareit)

Right. Lan speeds are likely to be affected more for most people. Range is also supposed to be affected.

Well not a big problem if you know how to change channel of cordless. Though microwave is a big nuisance.
Still range and call quality of dect cordless is much better.

I wouldn't recommend 2.4ghz in today's time.

Try these gigaset dect phones

The one with power backup are costly and mostly imported one. Also it's mostly minimum two handset system I think as one handset is used as power back on base station.

I am using uniden xdect series(imported from AU) with power backup and mobilephone blutooth sync(just keep mobile handset near base of cordless , you can receive and make mobile calls via cordless handset ).
