MTNL Triband Broadband: <Help needed> Pages not opening despite net connected.

After enough patience i finally got my broadband. But my happiness didnt last long as my connection worked out only for a day.To begin with, everything is fine from the ADSL settings point of view(the guy who came to install router said not to change the settings of router and i didnt do anything). On connecting the adpater, the first message i get in taskbar is "network wire is unplugged" then after some seconds it says Lan is now connected at 100 mbps.But when i try to open any page it dosent open 🙁 Can anyone please guide me what could be the problem. Even the adsl blinks as it used to do before.. so no prbs there.As mtnl is already short of technical ppl it seems distace that they will provide timely help.

which router do you have? and exactly which light blinks?

just for ur info. sometimes sites take 3-4mins to open after logging in.

The router model no. is T-KD-318-EUI. The power,status,ADSL,ethernet led's light up in normal manner which they used to during normal operation.

Dude, the error i get on mozilla FF is "This page cannot be displayed" Be is yahoo/google/gmail or any damm website.

Ok Dude,looks like the Charkop exchange/RamKhilawan Ji finally gave u a connection.I'm on the same exchange and have had this issue for about 2 weeks plus now.Looks like u've been set up on PPPoE.Just let the ADSL (Yellow)light stop blinking and this shld take about 2 mins.The connection only starts DLing(Going Live after about another 2-3 mins) after the ADSL glows steadyTry opening a page in Opera firtsI HAVE NO CLUE WHY......but after opera starts up and gets connected....Its like the tap is opened and Once I can start to surf in Opera.....My default Firefox and uTorrect also start to connectMay be its coz i lose 5 mins doing all this to get the connection live or maybe its something elseEither way unless I open Opera I sometimes get no connection some times even If I reboot modem,redial Bridge connection or simply wait 10 mins or more

Yes i have been set up on PPPoE. It takes for me around 10 seconds for the adsl led to glow from blinking to steady state(means my connection is active)

Try opening a page in Opera firts

Dude, i let my connection active for 15-20 minutes just in case everything becomes allright, but even in opera i get error message that page cannot be opened. I even shut down my AV just in case to avoid conflicts but fcuk even this dosent help.
Curses to those bloody mtnl ppl good for nothing. :madness:

My firewall is by default disabled(KIS takes care of it) and disabling KIS didnt help too so no luck ahead.

not the firewall dude.........I have the exact same symptoms and I dunno why it happensBut after 5 mins and when I try Via Opera to browse It starts.i bet even their engineers cant figure out why exactly or what is happening

Guys, thanks for all ur help. The engineer finally came and fixed the problem(actually there was no problem he just pinged two ip address n volia it was done) How stupid can this problem be!!!I request mods/admin to close this thread.Thank u.

He pinged the MTNL DNS server addresses for Mumbai,Now u have to do it every time it happensPreferred DNS server: 203.94.227.70Alternate DNS server address: 203.94.243.70They made me do it a couple of times I called up 1500 in the past,then i simply started to use Opera to get things running 😀But exactly why this causes the surfing to stop when link is sctive is still a mystery

Just ping those dns servers to make the net work, how & why does it work, i need to research on it or probably we all should research on it and do a root-cause analysis....................

It seems i was wrong about Mtnl... problem has resurfaced and this time no matter how many times i ping addresses (192.168.1.1) or(203.94.227.70) only 192.168.1.1 pings successfully. For the latter one i get "destintion net unreachable". I even re-configured my router and rebooted it as instructed from the call centre guys but no luck.

Can anyone please help me in this matter...

seems ur local server is down/upgrading or something like that...just wait for few (or more) hrs and see if it's fine...even i had this problem long time back, and it took almost half a day to fix this issue...
