Its a great news for the residents of Tiruppur as Big Bazaar's new outlet is going to be opened very soon in Tiruppur. As seen from the progress of the outlet's construction it should open within a period of 1 month. As of now the Big Bazaar have their outlets in Tamil Nadu only in the cities of Chennai,Coimbatore and now Tiruppur

Hi,Big Bazaar gives exchange options, you can exchange old things for coupons such as furniture, clothes, tv etc. Have you ever tried this? They take old newspapers ie raddi for 30 rs per kg. Is this for real? Thanks...

yeah that is real one .. but as usual they have * terms and condition applied on the same .. u need to spend that much money there itself and u need to do minimum amount of the shopping to avail such schemes ...

Whose gonna take raddi to a mall? O_O

They give discount coupon in lieu of raddi and kabad and u use those discount coupon while normal shopping

humm .. ppl take old furniture there and u talking about raddi ....

I guess this is also not valid on items which already have another form of discount or special offer.

you have to purchase the 4times the coupon value to avail this offer 😛 Acc to their TOC.Moreover this coupon cant be availed on most of the items like Food Bazaar Electronics Furniture Gold and many other things 🙂

You can exchange it for 4 times value in terms of shopping. Last time they allowed purchase of household provisions - Dhals, Oil, Kellogs etc. It is quite a good deal actually I guess.I got Rs. 2000 worth coupons for my old qualis tyres, for which I was getting only Rs 500 from the tyre dealer...

Precisely You got 19% discount.
Here is how its computed

For Rs 2000 coupons you need to spend Rs8000
So you paid Rs 6000 after deducting the Rs 2000 coupons
Moreover you could have got Rs 500 of the tyres so in all you paid Rs 6500 for 8000
That brings to 19% 😀

That also depends.. if items that u bought for Rs.8000 were priced same everywhere else. If same items you cud have purchased for Rs7000 somewhere else...then u saved just Rs500... effectively u got only 5% discount.

And then there is always tendency to OVERSPEND when u have coupons.... because to GET BACK THOSE 2000Rs... u make purchases that u dont need at all...so greed of additional 1500Rs can make u spend additional 3000Rs unnecessarily....

that is the principle the big bazar is working on!

Yes I agree with both the calculations above, on food stuff, generally you get about 8% discount from local small grocery shops, sometimes upto 15% on some products. So all in all it works out nearly the same or some small advantage, which is why I didnt bother going there this year 🙂

If you go an purchase your stuff from wholesale shops 15% is easy. And point made by amish of overspend is the usually the case.
