Airtel Payments Bank (6% interest on deposits over 1 lakh)

Yeah, if the balance is available for bill payment just use it for anything that supports 10 rupee payment.

And this is exactly why I didn't do KYC, because I wanted them to close it.

Dear Customer, As per RBI Guidelines your Airtel Money Wallet will expire soon! Your wallet will be upgraded post expiry. Details @www.airtel.in/5/apbbnkminkyc

It was supposed to be expired. Feb 2020. How exactly do they plan to charge me the fee? Wallet is nom operational, and I'm a prepaid user. 🤔

I think you can still do recharges using wallet even without kyc. just use the recharge & pay bill options from the services tab

It's not a functional wallet. If I want do recharges, I've to do KYC. That's the whole point. 🙄

Wrote to wecare, and got a call explaining to me that I am not using the wallet hence the charge. But the lady couldn't answer my simple question: if I have not done KYC for this wallet, why is it still active?

"Technical glitch, sir".

Amazon tried to push me into doing kyc for their Pay crap. I never opted for it whenever the delivery guy owed me a few bucks (when I was using cod) they would credit it to the wallet which I used once when I was paying for a purchase. Finally they sent me a sms that my pay account is suspended for non compliance of kyc. As if I care..
