Yep. Same happening here.

Let them create m-pesa wallet. where are they saying that we need to compulsory put some money (like minimum balance) in m-pesa 😀
I created Idea Money account just to pay Idea bills where they give 5% cashback on bill payments through Idea Money. I have 3 postpaid Idea connections, so I am happy that I get some cashback every month 🙂

i have a m-pesa account. the problem is that vodafone app has nothing to do with m-pesa. my airtel has airtel money integration but it's an optional feature. i have the choice of using it or not. here i cannot even access my bill without creating a wallet.

This is actually frustrating. I open app to check usage and best offers but this mpesa thing is just don't letting me use this app at all, was planning to port my number to Airtel or idea earlier but this thing is making me do that tomorrow!

so you are not accepting the terms to go ahead as well? or the app does not work even if you approve creation of m-pesa account?

in my case, vodafone is stupid enough not to check if an account already exists. they should not even be asking this question. unless of course there is a legal requirement for the same.

I don't have any problem in accepting terms for the same but the way they are making this mandatory for every app user to confirm or not use the app is bad.

And my previous grudges for Vodafone made me more angry after this:coldsweat:

OK, so port to Idea, then Vodafone gets sold/acquired to/by Idea... PROFIT !!! 😀

(Unless they go to JIO)

that's another point. if vodafone is looking to get out in any case, why would they be pushing m-pesa on their entire customer base today? i mean 8 november is 2 month old story. people have cash in their pockets. who gives shit about m-pesa!

m-pesa is owned by their parent company. it has global presence. if voda sells their indian business... it's not like they would also sell them their m-pesa division.

Vodafone would not sell itself. Its big global organisation and India is profitable market for them. They would rather purchase Idea (or Tata).

I did/do not see any such popup on My Vodafone app? Does it check install or something? On a side note - Vodafone Sim is not in this device now.

App was updated. But, apparently the app was running, so I forced stopped it & then restarted it. The message still did not come.

more shit... i went ahead and approved. it created a second m-pesa account for me as this number is used by my dad.
if that was not bad enough... the app has nothing to offer wrt m-pesa. i cannot seem to add money to it. or use it to make payments.
from the looks of it, vodafone is just increasing the number of accounts. as people would just approve the process and not use it because there is nothing to use as of now.
