Hello friends, I recently paid the demand note for a BSNL Dataone connection on thursday i.e two days earlier. Any idea how long it will take? On an average does it take a full week?I asked the JE at the local customer care center and he said it just takes 2-3 days. Ofcourse, I can't trust him! 😛

First tell me if that 1 gb limit suits u or not ?

Well I paid the demand note on Thursday. They didn't send me any demand note, just called up and told me the code for the same. I rushed with the payment. Today, Monday, they sent some stupid linewallah! He insisted he change the current wire with another copper wire for reasons known to him and God! Well, he said I'll report to the ModemWallah and he'll come in the evening. I guess he'll come tomorrow morning. And now there's another problem! The phone has gone dead since the day I applied for Broadband! Interestingly I got to know about that just yesterday as I don't use landline for calling and all. So made a complaint to the LineWallah but he just won't work! He told me to file a complaint for the phone. Paid him 100 bucks, he ran to check if there was problem at the exchange. Never came back 🙁

Before giving Dataone connection BSNL people do a number of parameter test on your existing copper wire. If the existing copper pair pass the parameter test, then they do not change it. The test is done by the internal staffs from the Exchange. If the existing copper wire fails the parameter test that means you will not get good service on the existing copper pair. They need to be replaced.

So if they want to replace it do not stop them. Consider yourself lucky because in my case I wanted to replace the existing copper pair, but they did not do that saying it passed the parameter test.

Hmmm thanks for that info. In my case, the lineman seemed confused. First he asked me if I asked for a new phone connection. Then he later thought he has enough cable so he laid the new one 😛

But the 100 rupees u paid is too much..he suhd have settled down with 30 rs...

No connection till date. No one turned up, no one seems to be intersted in getting the dead phone alive after several complaints and no modem 🙁((
