Just make sure the cable modem if you buy is DOCSIS 3.0.
Tell ISP the Serial and MAC address on your cable modem to register the
modem so you can use the internet on your own cable modem.
Be sure to confirm with your ISP first whether they allow it or not.

Where can we buy such new cable modems?

Also it should be EU standard and not US standard. They use different frequency.
US standard docsis 2.0 is limited to 34mbps max down speed but EU standard docsis 2.0 is capable of 58mbps AFAIR. That's why cable provider in India provide docsis 2.0 modem if you have internet connection speed of up to 50mbps.

siti broadband provide docsis 3.0 only for 100mbps plan. For rest of plan they provide docsis 2.0

Do you use hathway connection? Can you tell me their upload speed?

Sitibroadband provides docsis 2 modem if u opt a plan of less than 50 mbps speed.
For 50 mbps and above they provide docsis 3.
