My Experience With Sify:Case 1] I 've two PC on LAN. I took sify connection. The very first day, the connection is not working when my internal LAN is enabled. I requested to resolve this issue by calling almost 6 times on that day, and continued to call for 4 days. No answer on this issue. No person to come to my place. I wrote CC to refund me. Even after 20 days, not reply to my email. There was no error. Only thing that was happening is cannot find server for all request. If I use sify, I've to disconnected my internal lan.Case 2] After that I visited my cable operator. He called to his contact and the Sify person came in on day. Enjoy! The problem of connection was mapped to Internet Explorer. See the technical person's skill!! He scred up all configuration in IE and removed almost 1200 cookies store on my PC. Resetted all list of allowed sites and disallowed sites. Resetted all permissions. I was just looking at him and when he did so. It was so quick I could not stop him. Even I'd warned not to reset anything without asking me, he did so.Case 3] I found the resolution my self by surfing net. On one PC if you have multiple default gateway's it will create troubles. So I removed my internal lan gateway, and it started working excellent even my internal lan is connected. SIFY JUST CAME OUT WITH THIS CHECK IN THE VERSION TWO OF SIFY LOGIN.Case 4] From Last one month, I'm facing troubles of frequent disconnections. Sometime, it last for 2 hours. I've call CC almost 12-14 times, but no reply. Case 5] I've read many topics here on KBps and kbps. Why do any person will go for kbps. In terms of Computers, kbps always means Kilo Bytes Per Second. Ask any professor or a student or an engineer or anyone. [Why can't they note such a big different at the bottom of the pack list.]I'm not understanding how to stop this type of ISP's from cheating people. I'm really unhappy as this types of issues I've faced with my local cable operators intenet, mtnl intenet and sify. As per me, if the communication services are provided excellent any country can grow must faster. But such ISP's are hurting the growth. Today I spoke to one TATA Broadband person, the same way of presentation with higher amount. What to do?????!!!!! Still to go ahead with one more type of experience..........Have to as there are no other options..........left by us.........for us.... 🙁

IF ANYONE KONWS OF ANY CONSUMER RIGHTS ASSOCIATION OR GORVERNMENT DEPARTMENT IN MUMBAI, JUST DO INFORM HERE. I WILL TAKE INITIATE TOWARDS THIS.

Ok, you are right on one part. But not totally.

1] Why don't they provide proper notice about this in the pamplates they are giving with price list and also while conversation about the topic.

2] As per the Definition of Broadband by the Government [TRAI], it should be more than 256 Kilo bytes per second. I just found this. But I'm sure, they all are aware of this while starting.

TRAI

Sify is not providing broadband

What are you talking about???Sify mentions their bandwidths in kbps where "b" means bits. TRAI has said that a service at a minumum bandwidth of 256 kbps or 256 kilo bits per second would be considered to be broadband. And one doesn't have to be an engineer to know small b is bits and big B is bytes, even 14 year olds know it

yeah, if he's using internet since he was 7 😛which is not a big deal in today's date... 😀
