both the options are set to automatically. when you enter user and pass for your ppoe connection in your router it automatically fetches the ip subnet dns etc on its own .
so how do i change that?
in this ipv4 prop i selected the use the following dns and put in google's dns . is this how it should be done?
i do not think you have much control. you can enter googledns servers in the second option (use the following dns server addresses). i am not sure if excitel uses the os settings.
it messes up with their own optimization and could potentially cause issues with peering. this is what was mentioned by excitel guy in other thread. i personally have no major issue. i just turn on the VPN when i want to bypass excitel's settings. also i have noticed from the logs that the longest session lasts for 24 hours and 15 minutes 😀
yea right now the 799 plan doesnt really benefit from peering . both the speeds are 20 mbps . so if you are getting peering or not it doesnt really matter. so i couldnt care less. also i use free VPN extension on chrome and that also doesnt help me with twitch . im an avid twitch streamers . i watch streams all the time and its really a bummer that im unable to do this after getting excitel installed and they cant even fix this.
i dont have any friends who believe in paying for a VPN and this free one that im using does the job for me except for twitch.
right now i use a python script to stream twitch streams on vlc and it works okayish.
