New DataOne Conection

HiI have shifted from Delhi to Chennai last month. I was using AirTel Broadband in Delhi & quite satisfied with their services.But now when I called AirTel guys in chennai for new connection they said, they don't have network in my area & they are planing for next couple of months.So I have decided for DataOne, tell me how much good or bad it is in terms of speed & usages. I need to connect only in off peak after office hours.But main problem is, I don't have BSNL phone. How much it will cost/pain to get new phone & minimum monthly rental for phone. I don't require phone for any voice usage.Is any other way to go for broadband without getting new landline phone?Also do BSNL has any unlimited plan with 256kbps speed?-Ravi
 
You should require a BSNL landline phone for dataone. This is their first condition. As of now there is no unlimited plans. I asked them about this and they replied in -ve.

I live in Shenoy Nager(next to Shenoy Nagar BSNL telephone Ex), AirTel ppl came & confirm that, they don't have network there & will take few months to cover that area.
