DNS Problems on Excitel Broadband

Hi saurabh.
I need to switch to a different dns server with excitel on the router level.
Did you find a solution?

Also, i tried to use dns changer apps that operate through vpn, and using those too, i am not able to change the dns server for wifi(excitel). When i use my mobile data, the dns server change works fine.

So i am looking for two solutions, one is for router level way, and one on android device with free dns changer apps that work through vpn.

If you mainly use a PC to do work Simple DNSCrypt this will work as a nice and easy solution to the problem and can even work network wide if you want ( set up as gateway ) .

Cons include :
O : Not learning about openwrt IMHO the best custom router firmware.
O : Slower than a router if used as a gateway.
O : ??? Help me @john_dud to make him join openwrt (/s)


Pros include :
O : Comparatively easier solution.
O : Nice comprehensive list of Resolvers.
O : Quick resolution of problems by the GitHub dev !

How did you setup that?
 

Are you not using it at the EdgeRouter-X Level?

And, What is your DNS on EdgeRouter-X and for the System?
 
We can use 1.1.1.1 without facing any issues with Excitel? Because I think I read somewhere. Excitel doesn't allow other DNS apart from their own right?

Did you add the 1.1.1.1 on the DHCP Settings of EdgeRouter OR What?
 
i got it through a friend who was coming to india from usa.
i cannot comment on where to buy it local.
a few folks on the forum have ordered it through their local distributors i think.
there was a comment in the last couple of days that i am unable to locate right now related to that 😕
