Google Pixel XL - Quite Black - 128GB

you paid 1000 rupees for amzer branded case 😛 spiegel nahi mila?

Checked with Amzer. They say they won't ship before 4/11. Enquired with Tekkitake (authorised resellers for Spigen in India) and they said the cases will be available in a day or two. Hence cancelled the order with Amzer.

So the phone was delivered yesterday. Couldn't spend much time on it as I reached home late. I'm yet to switch to it as the Spigen case hasn't arrived yet and I don't use phones without cases. Here's a brief review (Comparing it with my current driver, Nexus 6P):
  • The build quality is very nice, better than 6P. Very sturdy.
  • Man, this phone is faassst. I have more than 130 apps installed and not once did it lag or stutter. Even apps like Facebook and Chrome opens in a jiffy. Google has done a solid job in optimizating the OS.
  • The AMOLED display is better than 6P and the whites are on the cooler side unlike 6P which is on the warmer side.
  • The fingerprint sensor feedback is more or less the same as of 6P, but the swipe up/down for notifications is nice.
  • The camera is the quickest I've ever seen. The two snaps I took was decent. It does have the halo issue under certain lighting conditions as reported by various tech sites but I was able to get halo on my 6P too. Need to test more. The quality of front camera is the same as 6P.
  • The loudspeaker is very audible and clear then I expected. Although it doesn't come close to the dual speakers of 6P.
  • The vibration feedback is almost the same as 6P. Not too hard, not too soft. Just right.
  • Haven't tested the call quality from earpiece or network reception yet.
Quite satisfied with it, period 😀

Congrats!!! Great phone indeed.

I would rather invest into something like Mi MIX/Mi Note 2 instead of this..I just don't get the hype about this iteration of GPhones.. 😕

Fair enough..what about OnePlus, they are planning to launch their own SD821 line device which would cost a lot less and might overpower Pixel series..

Battery life is absolutely amazing.

By this time and with same usage my Nexus 6P is usually around 60%.

I tried to PM you @Nishant, but found no such option. Just wanted to ask you, do you still use that Amzer TGSP? If yes, then how is the product? Any halo effect or dust creeping in from sides because of adhesive lack or anything like that?

No, I cancelled the order. I was using a cheapo TGSP till recently after which Intelliarmor arrived. Using that now. All TGSPs that I've tried has halo effect around the borders. It is minimal on Intelliarmor.

@ithehappy I'm using a ScratchGard plastic screen protector. Works pretty well, if you ask me. Wasted nearly ₹1,800 before settling on this one. None of the TGSP are close enough to the coverage that you get with plastic.
