Excitel has the most obnoxious customer care of all ISPs I have used till now

The good part is that the number is toll free and it is pretty painless to connect to a human being. At least for now.

The problem is that the guy would not note down the complaint immediately. He would force you to go through the idiotic steps of restarting the router, checking router configurations, taking out the Ethernet cable and putting it back again multiple times. Only after that he would tell you that he would contact the people in charge and get them to look into the problem.

One of the guy actually told me that I was lying about downtime since 6:30pm because he can see data usage after that time period. The data was consumed when the internet came back for 15-20 minutes which essentially made me a liar.

Another guy told me that he is not responsible for the delay in resolution because I called up the local guy instead of the customer care. So it’s my fault that the problem has lasted for so long. Not kidding.

No matter what you do, this is how every call of mine has gone through since morning. The connection has been barely up for 1 hour since 6:30am. Local guy stopped picking up my calls a while ago. I have 3 pending complaints lodged with Excitel since then. Services resume for 10 minutes and then disappear for hours. Excellent stuff.

TLDR:

What works with Excitel Customer Care Guy: There is a yellow triangle on the networking icon.
What doesn't work with Excitel Customer Care Guy: Internet is down from the LCO's gateway.

i had sort of similar experience with them . ill tell you my story
when i got excitel pamphlet i was really happy that i will finally be able to get it. fast forward a few days booked connection with lco . guys came at home did the wiring , activated my account right away ( before i got to check the connection ) so when i checked the connection speeds were good but had ping issues . high ping and packet loss. as i am a gamer i also need good pings . i ask the guys to do something about the pings , they were like we dont know anything about pings, speeds are good . thats all we know and care about. i just right away refused the connection . then they were like we have activated your account and if you cancel we will face loss . i still said no. after a few months , i tried to get the connection again . but the lco ownder rightaway refused me to give me the connection . its like he was taking some revenge against me. but whatever . i emailed excitel about the same and even wrote on their fb page. got a call from excitel . they said we will book you for new connection and you will get a call for us . guess what ?? i never really got that call . no idea about what happened to my complaint.

and here i am stuck with a small local isp . they charge 900 rs for 3mbps unlimited.
its really sad that the lco chose to took revenge against me instead of making a new customer .
i really wish excitels customer care service was more good and they actually had excitels guys at local lco that had more power over those lco and supervised everything there.
but whatever i guess it was not in my fate to witness high speed internet yet xD
 
right. excitel i believe advertise on their website that you can get a full refund if you are not happy with the service in the first 30 days. i thought about pushing to get a refund if the situation does not improve in the coming 30 days. but decided against it. if it stays like this, i would downgrade to the 800 rupee plan. run the pi on that plan purely for downloads and use airtel on my pc. i managed with reliance for so long but it was a compulsion that i no longer have. remains to be seen if they would let me get rid of them easily in the coming days. i applied for disconnection yesterday. i should get a confirmation call on monday.
