Doubts regarding TriB 590 NU (Night Unlimited)

Hello,

I live in Delhi and have just changed my plan from ADSL 399 to TriB 590 NU. Have some doubts regarding it. Please clarify -

1. In order to avail the free night unlimted service, will I have to shut down my computer and modem (CPE) before 0000 hrs, if its already ON and then re-boot it after 0000 hrs again?

2. Also, will I have to repeat the above procedure at 0800 hrs?

3. Can I keep my modem ON during day time (when not using the Internet)? Hope it will not raise my used MB's limit.

4. There is this website: http://register.bol.net.in, through which we can check our monthly usage. Will the data that I will download between 0000 hrs to 0800 hrs reflect in this website? If yes, how will I know whether its free or getting counted for money?

ok if u insist and don't intend on searching the forum and take some pain, here u go... 🙂1. It's not necessary to restart the modem at 12 midnight and 8 am to avail the night unlimited...but it's recommended as then u'll have all the details with u in case there's any discrepancy in ur bill, later on...2. Yes, just to record the time slot of 12 - 8 am...3. Not recommended...first of all why do u want it at all...if u don't even want to take the pain of starting the modem, plug it with ur UPS and it will get started with ur comp...it will raise ur limits, but negligible coz the modem does some data transfer to keep the connection alive...but again, the recommended thing is to switch it off whenever not needed...4. The data u download between 12 - 8 am will only reflect in ur account usage if u restart at the modem at those timings coz it just records from and to whenever the modem is restarted...to know if u're getting the data during this time for free, just see ur "Account Summary" the default page that opens...the "ADSL MB" is ur balance MB which is 500 MB per month...it's get reset each month starting from 500 and going downwards...to view the detailed usage, click on "View Session History" and select the time frame u want to see ur usage for...i hope rest u'll know how to interpret...enjoy!!! 😀

Question 1,2 and 3 r clear. However, a little doubt in the 4th one -

I know in the "Account Summary" page of http://register.bol.net.in site, "ADSL MB" is my balance of the month. Wht I want to know is, will the data tht I download in the 0-8 hrs slot wud reflect in this "ADSL MB" column or not?

and yes, my modem is already connected to UPS, tht is always ON. Thts why I asked any harm of keeping it always ON? Harm of any type, increase in used MB's or hardware failure.....Thnx a lot 🙂

ur data usage for 12-8 will only appear in "Session History" if u follow the restarting schedule...otherwise, the default page (Account Summary) will only show the total always...as far as hardware failure is concerned, i don't think that'll happen, but for sure it will add up in ur electricity bill...and with the new electronic meters in place, life's got really miserable 🙁
