synced @2048kbps .. gettin less than 256kbps...

i am not getting 2mbps tonite,,, anyone else facing problems??
i have 749nu plan and was getting 2mbps earlier ...
i am even synced at 2048kbps...

yeah, tonight speeds are low, im not getting more than 100 kb/sec, may be its because of weekend load.you downlaoding maya, hmm
 
me having good speeds here 210kBps celebrating freeleech at my fav torrent site..you know guys we need higher upload speeds atleast 512kbps
 
Tumhare saath kam se kam "speed speed" toh khel rahe hai bas ek hum hi ullu hai jinhe speed nahi mil rahi hai. 😡
 
Right now the servers are at full load prolly.I am getting 180kbps in movie torrents i.e. very well seeded torrents.Rest all around 70-80.
 
@nish_lalTry downloading something from Microsoft servers/ or an Ubuntu torrent.
 

i've tried direct download from microsoft, torrent, ftp... nothing is giving me more than 256, but its weird because i know that mtnl have synced me to 2048kbps . so i don't know how else they can control the speed.and its not like the speed is going over 256 from time to time... :wall::wall:it has not corrected it self till now.. and it has been like this from atleast yesterday eveningi am under janakpuri exchange ..

Sync just sets the speed between your modem and local exchange. Beyond that speed is controlled by others servers, probably located in Kidwai Bhavan. MTNL is down to tricks it seems. We
might end up paying Rs. 749 for extra only for 250 MB daytime download per month. And they have removed 590 NU plan too we can't go back also.

I am already thinking about dumping MTNL once I've had time pass with this 2 mbps plan if MTNL keeps on bothering us like this. Not going to pay Rs. 1200 per month to stay up like an owl till 12 AM just to get 256 kbps.

i have also been thinking similar lately...only thing positive is that mumbai users do not have those problems and they are on plan for 2 months ..hope it will not be otherwise here
 
my latest speedtest result...


they sent the lineman over today to check my speeds... he saw the 4 lights on my modem on and immediately called someone from his cellphone ..

:hysterical: :hysterical: Damn... they only know to check the LED's whose status can even be told by customer over phone...
 
nobody came to my house today .. although the lineman promised he would send somebody more technically gifted today. i called up 1504 a few times, they made me change the dns a few times and delete the files in temp folder a few times and made me restart the modem a couple of zillion times.
i sent an email to agmabb@bol.net.in which is the email of GM(BB) Sh. H.P.Gupta at kidwai bhawan according to this page on MTNL's site.
did anyone ever recieve a response from mtnl via email??

Singapore servers are weird. They showed my speed as 400 kbps but I downloaded files via limewire at 800 kbps to 1 mbps.
