Excitel Broadband User Experience in Gurgaon

Excitel just closed a 90 days old ticket of mine which was about speed issues. On a 400 mbps plan I am barely getting 300 mbps. Going to stick with 300 mbps plan if I renew next time.
 
their 400meg plan is not feasible at all. Its a scam tbh, its overselling of already saturated bandwidth. 400meg on EPON is scam.
@anmolbhard004 based on older replies of sushubh, he is using 300mbps plan.
 
Yup. lol. speeds are worse now. I hope it gets better after 11pm. I would really hate to look for another service provider. I can manage with few hours of slowdown during peak times.

lol. direct i am barely getting 11-15mbps on excitel's own server. But I do manage to cross 100mbps on Warp.

by looking at these results I now feel that I have over-criticised Airtel and shouldn't have , whatever they are providing I have now made peace out of it.
 


It appears the underlying issue might be the upstream choke.

Since, there is a speed improvement with WARP, as Excitel do have a direct IX peering, there is no point in blaming the EPON system.

Excitel does oversell and that is how it has been able to drive its prices significantly down, so it's not astounding.
 
why dont you upgrade existing airtel connection to 300M and deactivate excitel for a while?

I thought FUP is something which is holding him back from using Airtel.
 
Too many sites blocked. It's really not big of a deal as long as streaming isn't affected for folks at home. I just noticed it after a long time. Probably coz it was a Sunday late evening.

I was more worried if my fiber cable was damaged or something.
 
If fiber cable gets damaged, you wont get connectivity at all.
PON wont be authenticated.
 
I was talking about line quality. They already patched it once after a truck damaged it instead of replacing it.
