Not only this, you can also switch over to other service provider with same hardware, there would be postpaid facility too and more competition among DTH companies resulting in better service for consumers.

yes..actually STBs do allow SIM card type system but these companies disable it or make it hard on purpose.

u need to check out the complete document. they have made some real strong recommendations!

i think i WOULD indeed switch my DISH TV STB for something more up to date in December if nothing changes.

though i have a feeling that Zee and Tata would somewhat collaborate and get things messed up 😀

is it me or http://www.trai.gov.in/ is down at the moment?

😕😕😕😕😕

yes i read it. and looked like dream directions.dish and Tata Sky cant do muchyes trai website is not working.

the funny thing is that i paid 4000 for zee dish tv connectionthey gave me six months free with this packagethat means i literally paid 2800 for the hardware and installationnow if i apply for a refund.... they would have to give me back around 2999 bucks? that means they are paying me 199 bucks for free 6 months of television?even if they apply the regular laws of depreciation... it would be an awesome deal for me?is zee dish tv doomed now?what abt those people who took 2 connections for 8K and got 12 months free on both? 😀

yes.. actually i am happy because even my cable operator wud be forced to offer STB on rent!!

so its better to wait for some time before buying

umm the rules also say that they would have to offer refund to existing customers in case they do not want to continue with their services. sounds too consumer friendly. sounds too improbable.

yes.. actually i am happy because even my cable operator wud be forced to offer STB on rent!!

umm is ur cable guy a DTH service provider?

no we are not in CAS area but cable op practices monopoly and forcing ppl to buy STB to see what he calls exclusive channels (e.g star cricket)now if DTH guys offer STB for rent he wud have to do same too.

the competition could bring much better service, rather than having monopoly of dth, cable, but even more important is regulations, now onlythey also could do something about content.
