Unified Payments Interface (UPI) News & Updates

I have 4 UPI apps - Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Amazon and PhonePe
Its good to have more than 1 option as sometimes some app may not work. For me when I added Axis Bank to Google Pay, it did not work, always gave UPI limit exceeded error. Bur same account worked with Samsung Pay. Amazon is good for Cashback, but its UI lags, so it becomes bothersome while in shop. Kept PhonePe as backup if other 3 fails, since I deleted Paytm 😀
 
I think most people have 2 primary and one secondary UPI app installed.

Primary - Paytm, Google Pay/phone pe
Secondary - Amazon UPI.
Other - banks apps.

Paytm also has other uses like bill payments, metro ticket qr and recharges etc so Paytm has more uses too.
 
Yeah Paytm does seem to support more services than regular bbps database. So handy to keep it installed. My fastag is from them so have to keep it in any case.
 
Getting offtopic but, Fastag was reason I kicked Paytm out. Just 2 days before my travel to out station I found out that PayTM KYC expired. I tried online and offline. But both said Server was down so KYC was not getting renewed. I even paid Rs 50 at offline store for KYC.
Had to pay almost Rs 500 extra for tolls during travel.
After I returned, saw alert in PayTM app that they can arrange visit for KYC which would also be charged.

About other Services, I tried Electric bill payment and Gas booking (HP), both worked fine on Amazon.
 
Primary - Amazon UPI & ICICI Pockets (both allow wallet bal to be used for UPI)
Backup - G-Pay & Bajaj Finserv
Dumped Paytm after suddenly the app started asking to reverify SIM even though there was no change in handset or SIM and then kept sending SMS or verification but failed to complete verification every time. Ate away more than Rs50 that way.
@SVK I use ICICI fastag. Can be recharged from many apps with cashback offers.

let me count the upi capable (and configured) apps i have. ignoring the banking apps themselves lol.

PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay, samsung pay, Amazon, airtel, whatsapp.

i could probably get rid of google pay and even phonepe of these. i do not keep whatsapp installed all the time but i have it right now.

After few days of waiting finally i've got my Paytm app updated today. Activated UPI LITE. Added money to it and tested with QR's. It works really well without asking for a PIN.👍👍👍
 
Is this with Paytm Bank or any bank works?

Kind of cute that they are back to launching a prepaid wallet model 🤣

If it's a feature of Paytm app, upload the apk and share link 🤸
