hello

my lyf phone broke 3 days ago. since the jio sim that comes with a lyf phone does not work on any other phones, it has been rendered useless. their customer service helpline -199 sucks as you to have to wait for more than 45 mins everytime you call them. after 3 days of trying, i could get hold of a CC executive who told me that i will have to purchase a new lyf phone in order to use my old sim for JPO which is kind of stupid as the new lyf phone would anyway come with a new sim which will have a later expiry in comparison with my older sim. in any case, i paid 3000 rupees to jio for their JPO and they tell me that my sim card is useless because my lyf phone broke while giving away sim cards for free to other people who are paying nothing.

incidents like these tell you how consumer centric a company is.
 
1. Did you try searching for a 2nd hand LYF handset on OLX? Pay no more than 2k for Flame 1. But that's the price you pay for breaking your phone.

2. If your jio offer was expiring, they may extend it for a month. This will allow you to use it on any phone.

3. Go to any Reliance Digital and get a new sim by showing them your 4G phone. It will take 3-4 days to activate depending on your store's efficiency.

1. robotic voices telling a customer that they can do nothing about his situation is a price that a company will have to pay in this age of proactive consumers. Rcom is nowhere in the telecom scene because of its robotic and pathetic customer care. a consumer centric company goes that extra mile for a genuine consumer. the wait time for their helpline 199 is over 40 minutes right now. emails sent to them 3 days ago havent been replied to. their twitter support has not replied in 3 days. service tickets raised gets closed automatically without any resolution. this is not how you become the best.

2. if they can allow usage of lyf phone sims in other handsets when they extend the preview they can certainly unlock my sim to be used in other phones. its just laziness on their part.

3. reliance stores in jaipur are not giving out sims for just any 4g phones. you need to have a code generated on your phone to get a sim.
 
Care to explain how your phone broke? What broke? Why do you think it is not covered under warranty?

If you have another 4G phone, you should be able to get a sim without the offer, try a different store, or a different city if you can.

shattered. broke after a fall on the road. does not switch on. does not work. does not charge.

none of the stores in jaipur are giving out sims without the code having been already generated.
 
1. Root any 4g phone
2. Install xposed framework
3. Install IMEI changer
4. Change your phone's IMEI to your LYF phone's IMEI

That doesn't work. Xposed doesn't alter baseband which phone carriers read from.

Stop posting this fake alternative.
 
@sahir How may days left in JPO initial offer of 90 days? Once this 90 days is over, you can use that SIM in any compatible phone.
 
d5aqoëp Do you think they will give new sim on existing LYF mobile? If I get code from somewhere else, can I get the sim activated in second slot? How to activate new sim?

the only thing that i can do is buy a used a lyf device or wait for jio to allow OnePlus 3 (my current phone) as a preview partner.
 
Has anyone managed to activate Samsung preview offer on a sim which previously had LYF preview offer that got expired after 3 months?

Just a theory.
