Free night downloads = switch on modem after 12?

I read somewhere here that for the DSL NU plan, the night free downloads only count if you switch on the modem after midnight and switch off before 8 am. is this true or just a rumour? can somebody who has received his bill confirm this? finding it difficult to stay awake till midnight every night to start my downloads!

it's wrong...i recieved the bill and everything was fine... 😀but i still take those measures as i don't trust them 😉 :lol:

well they don't mention it on MTNL's mumbai website..but on Delhi website it is mentioned..So I switch on the router after 12 only and shut it off before 8..(waking up early is a pain though..heh

If u still switch on the modem after 12 then how do u know that the bill is fine.

:hmmm: isn't there a way to Schedule booting of the modem every night, there must be a way, it is possible to reboot the modem/router through the interface, so probably a shrtcut to that added to Scheduled tasks or something like that. Even I am planning to shift to MTNL next month but if I have to wake up at 8 every morning its a real pain.

i started doing that after i saw my huge online bill...that never appeared on my actual bill...so am just palying safe since then!!!

@tushar...i tried to figure every possible way to do that, but cudn't find any till now...

the only thing that comes to my mind is a "mouse pointer scheduler"...do u understand what i mean??? 😉

Probably making a bat file forcing IE to open in kiosk mode, so it is on top and active window, and linking directly to Reboot modem would work. But I'm no programmer just guessing.Well, I gotta find something before the next month I cant wake up at 8 am during my vacations, thats torture :lol:
