ISRO launching INSAT 4CR, it will probably used by Reliance (BlueMagic) or by Bharti
Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is all set to launch the communication satellite Insat-4CR from Sriharikota on 1 September.
"Insat-4CR will be launched at 4:30 pm on 1 September, subject to weather conditions," a senior Isro official tells Indiantelevision.com.
The launch of Insat-4CR, which carries 12 high-power Ku-band transponders, will boost the direct-to-home (DTH) sector in India with players like Reliance ADAG (Bluemagic) and Bharti waiting in the wings to launch their services

Dear That's the reason why Tata has a scheme upto 23rd September '07. After 23rd Sept '07 you will start seeing advertisement in the media about the upcoming launch of Bharti, Sun Direct and Reliance, so have a little patience. Wait and Watch or if you are tempted go for Tata Sky (but only after the inclusion of Sun Channels in Tata Sky).:yahoo:

I am under the impression that Reliance shifted to a foreign satellite as per the news report given below. Which is correct - Insat 4CR or Measat-3?

MUMBAI: Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's Bluemagic will use Measat-3 satellite and is planning to launch its direct-to-home (DTH) service in the last quarter of this year.
Reliance has signed a deal with the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) for using the foreign satellite from the Astro Group, a source close to the company says. Measat had made its Ku-band transponders available and Isro was studying it technically to make an internal evaluation.

You are right, in the link it had mentioned below ---Insat-4CR is a replacement to Insat-4C, which had an unsuccessful launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in July last year. Reliance has shown interest in taking Ku-band transponder space on Measat-3. If Isro clears Measat for the Indian DTH operators, then Bharti is likely to get Insat-4CR satellite. That means if Reliance gets foreign satellite, then Bharti will get Insat 4CR, so good news is that we will have 2 new DTH operators
