Intitially, when I mailed customerservice@sify.com to ask for a NEW connection, nobody mailed me back ... wonder what will happen if I ask for troubleshooting or give a complaint ....

Anyway, the biggest problem with sify is the complications - The broadband client required, can't ping external servers, etc.

Apart from this, I get an ok experience (Speeds are mostly 6-7KBps, but a lot of times 2-3KBps) but these complications make me want to switch to Airtel DSL ...

airtel broadband is proving to be the best alternative. 😕 i just hope they give a visit to panchkula 🙁hate to live in dead city when it comes to net users...

I firstly asked my sify operator to install the cable at my office. After few months i got a Pc at home and asked him to install the cable at my home alsoI paid installation seperately (Twice) , but that's ok.Though i use Unlimited 32+ Package (Rs.615) my operator wants me to buy two packages. as i have two installataions. Why ? why do i do that ?I have paid them and want to use the same account from my home at night. But he fights with me all the time.My operator har@$$es me. Now tell is it legal or not.If it's legal, Can I sue them in consumer court :sOne more thing , When i asked my cable operator to gimme the slips for the installation fees. he said it's ok, we don't give slips to anyone :swhat u ppl. recomend ? and what sify staff says ? Plz. p@$$ on my Problem to sify, and ask them to clear this to all their distributors.

whoa, that is another low sify CTOs can touch. technically speaking you do not even need to buy a package. you can use my account to surf at office and at home. but also, technically you cannot use the shared packages for commercial usage.its all crap. i cannot actually complain on your behalf to sify people. but i would definitely recommend to send mails to the customer care people (and the senior representatives) and call up the local sify office and tell them about the CTO's dubious behaviour. as for me, i am putting this on the sify broadband blog. also, WHAT CITY ARE YOU FROM?

How can u say that i am using it for commercial usage.
The office is my own.
BTW i am from Delhi.

1. I just told what Sify's condition for a shared pack is.2. What comes under commercial usage for Sify is something I do not have a clue. But if the office usage comes under commercial criteria, Sify can tell you to use a different package for it. But that would have to be a non-shared one. So, in either case the CTO is ripping you off and you have a geniune case to complain to sify people. and if they do not respond, you can take them to consumer court.coz they say that a sify broadband account can be used throughout the country from anywhere. 🙂

i have ruind my relatin wit hmy distributor, now if i send an email , they will ask me my distributors name 🙁so i am confused what to do 🙁

mate, i do not even have a CTO. he left sify's distributorship. i get support from a guy whose office is 5 KM away in a total different sector. i have to get sify people from chandigarh office to get my problems solved.

hmm.. still i will like to ask /request him first and then only I will send a mail to customer care. 🙁I will update the situation here, If anything happens.p.s: somebody told me that he switches off the router at night, to keep it cool.

did you send a complaint to kashiana through the link i posted on some thread on this forum? she handles the delhi department.

yeah, tell him that what he is doing is not as per sify's website and you will have to contact the sify people in delhi...

Finally talked with him and also purchased a new night plan.He told me, he won't switch anything off from now.p.s : His router was down for last two days and got up today morning
