Hi,

I am from Vasundhra Enclave in East Delhi. I am currently on MTNL unlimited broadband combo plan which offers 2Mbps FROM 9 PM TO 8 AM and 512 kBPS during rest of the time along with 200 free calls. This plan cost me approx Rs. 1080/month ( including tax)

I would like to now move towards better plan with higher speed. Looking for 16MBPS plan with atlest 40GB fair usage limit.

In this context, pls advice:

1) Is there any 'secret' / 'non advertised' plan that I can opt which gives 16MBPS speed with high data and also probably free installation with wifi modem. How to get the best broadband deal from Airtel.

2) Plan that I am looking for should not be very high in comparison to my current plan price.

3) Since I am using the MTNL number for long, would not like to surrender the number. What is the minimum basis MTNL LL plan or lowest broadband combo plan that I can choose which will help me in retaining the number.

Pls advice.

Thanks

These plans are available:
All new secret Airtel Broadband UL Rapid Plans (Works in parts of Delhi/Gurgaon)

Maximum speed depends upon the state of Airtel boxes and wiring in your area. Airtel does not charge extra for speed these days. You can opt to get the maximum available in your area. You pay for data.

I suggest getting the 1199 60GB plan as it comes with free unlimited* local and std calls. Officially I believe this plan has just 20GB. So you would probably need to fight it out to get the hidden plan unless they have now published it on their website.

I called up the Airtel customer service but they say that they can only tell me about the plan which are there on site. They refused to provide any discount/ offer. As per them no offer is curretly going on.

They also adviced my to get in touch with their local sales team to check for any offer. Though I have left my contact details at contact center, but I am still to receive the call from Airtel sales team

it would be hard to get these plans as a new customer unless there is a lot of competition in your locality. airtel tends to be lenient in giving better plans if a competing player is offering super competitive plans.

my advice to you would be to... get the reliance jio three month plan right now. hopefully jio would launch in the next couple of months and airtel broadband prices would be dropped officially to compete with jio.

Not able to get JIO sim without LYF ( overpriced) & Samsumg.

I got call from one of the airtel sale person. He said I have to go with one of the official plan now and after month he will help in converting to one of those 'Secret' plans. As per him he has helped few others get that plan. Should I trust him?

Also pls confirm what is usual actual speed on 16MBPS plan? Is installation, wifi modem & phone instrument free with connection?

Let me know if anything I need to check before ( if at all) decide to take this connection?

Three months of unlimited internet for around Rs. 4000 is not overpriced especially considering people are still getting more than 20mbps.

No one can confirm if you would be able to get these hidden plans after a month. It depends upon the person you get when you contact Airtel Presence. My area has little competition yet I was able to get it on my second try. But my connection is also more than a year old. I got the package of an uncle upgraded with a phone call but his connection is like 10 years old. It's a risk that you would have to take knowing the possibility that you might not be able to get the hidden plan after a month.
