Net connection through Idea

Can anybody explain the quality for the internet usage of idia's unlimited plan for Rs. 300 pm.What is the average speed, which hand set is suitable for this connection . handset with EDGE future required for this?Pls guide me.Nebu

Frnd, I m from delhi, I have used Idea net connection thorugh which gives 12-15 KBps speed.Handset with GPRS can work for this.

hi,just downloaded Opera mini in laptop and instaled thru datacable in my SE W810i. Installation was successful, but when checking for internet connection, it says 'failed to connect to the internet'. I'm using IDEA CELLULAR in Kerala (India). As the idea person told, I tried APN name as 'imis' and 'internet', DNS as 10.4.42.15. But both doesn't work for me. Usually I use 'imis' when browsing in mobile and 'internet' when connecting to my laptop. This setting works for me in the default browser. But Opera doesn't work.......Please help.......

opera mini is not supposed to be used on a laptop 😕

i assume by "imis" u mean the wap settings which r required to browse thru wapsites... however Opera Mini requires normal internet connection i.e. "internet' as the default connection. so jus make the changes in the settings n i think u wud be able to browse the internet websites thru opera mini on ur cellphone.

Call Customer care for new settings for GPRS of your phone.

I can say idea net is good due to various reasons in pre paid . First it is cheaper than other networks(airtel rs15 to 20 per day,hutch and bsnl do not have unlimited plan in prepaid.Cell one post paid have 200 per month plan)in idea only rupees 5 per day unlimited usage.
Speed is also better than hutch ,bsnl.While download speed in idea is 3.5kb per sec while in cellone only 1.5 in most of the places(chennai-4.5 and hosur 7kb per sec).While in airtel it is 3.5 to 5(all places)
thirdly connectivity is also user friendly for laptop in idea.Use internet access point.Any doubt mail me to drjprabakaran@hotmail.com.But in mobile only netfront is working in idea.In cellone Nokia browser and opera working but netfront is not working.Airtel is working in all browser.
So decide yourself.
