Fast.com now shows quite a lot better speeds for me than say 2 months back. Earlier it used to max out at 19Mbps, today, I am getting 33-38Mbps range. Still pretty poor for a 100Mb connection though. I am sure streaming wouldn't be as much of an issue though, if I ever get round to using netflix.
netflix runs fine even on a 3-4mbps connection. it all depends upon the quality of connection. netflix performance on abs is awful. i personally did not see much improvement of quality when i moved from reliance to excitel. of course, i use chrome so i am probably not going to get anything above 720p in any case.
Airtel is now peering with Netflix at MumbaiCH. I'm getting connected to ipv4_1.lagg0.c004.bom001.ix.nflxvideo.net from yesterday. That might be why @Karan is now getting better speeds on fast.com.
Hmm... for me fast.com is in the IP range 104.108.xxx.xxx which reverses to akamai, so it is a CDN for sure. It always has/had pinged at 4ms at 7 hops for me. Anyways, if they are now peering that is good!
