My Tata Indicom Broadband experience (Bangalore)

Hi All, I am going to share some of my experience regarding the internet connectivity here. Before coming down to bangalore I was having Tata Plug-2-Surf connection in WB.I was getting decent speed there and so I thought of having the same here. After taking the connectivity with same tariff as I was having earlier I found irritating speed (1-2kb).Also experienced some bad billing from them.The bitter experience I had to continue for almost 1 yr before which I was not allowed to discontinue the connectivity.This restricted me from considering TATA for future. Now it's almost 3yrs down here. I took BBNL(a link provider - restricted to specific area) connection which was very decent and I continued for almost a year(11+ months). Now I have changed my residential and in new area I found only Hathway ISP.This ISP has made me experienced with more bitter one.The sales person came to my place and took the money(took some extra & gave a receipt of the exact amount required and told me he will return back the balance next day which has never happened till date..dishonesty continues..) and the connection was to be provided within 24hrs. but it took 7days for that and that too after calling the customer-care for almost 25-30 times. It was 1MB connectivity(download speed) unlimited Neo MAX1024 tariff plan.But when I checked the details it was giving me a download speed around 100kbps(kilo-bits).I kept knocking the customer-care and there would not be any reply to any mail. If lucky(1 time after around 20time calls) then there would come a call from them and making you understand that the bandwidth is considered as bits (1MB = 1Mega bits as per hathway) and this is the rule of TRAI in India. But as far as I know there is no restriction regarding the units in India. Also billing is a huge issue with Hathway.They will charge you with such amount that you will not be able to track for what it's charged.Also you will not be intimated regarding the bill and on the last day of payment they will call you to inform. The most annoying thing is the connectivity was said to be dedicated one but I found it was shared one. Frustrating isn't it??Even after requesting for disconnection nobody is responding on that.This is how this ISP has become Grade-A ISP in India. Now I tried for Airtel as I am already a CUG customer of them.I booked for the connectivity on 19th jan'12 Sat and got them to confirm me that in my area they can't provide BB as they do not have the feasibility within 5working days. But after informing about their incapability for BB they are coming down to my place to ensure for any alternative.Let's see what comes up from this.After all I would recommend not to consider Hathway & Tata till date.
