So recently I tried this App - suggested by some relative who himself is medical representative

PharmEasy- Happy Health! - Android Apps on Google Play
PharmEasy: Buy Medicines & Schedule Diagnostic Tests Online

First I was skeptical. But then I said - ok lets try once for small amount.

And it worked. App said 1 day delay but I got delivery on same day of the order.
  1. You have to upload your doctors Rx photo and place order
  2. Photo must have doctors / patients name and date of Rx (otherwise they reject order)
  3. Their retailer calls to confirm the medicines and quantity
  4. Their person comes and collects Rx (original) - and gives u receipt of collection
  5. He comes back 2nd time with medicines and also gives original Rx back
  6. Bill is under name of a retailer and bill shows FULL value
  7. But payment that I made is 20% less than what is mentioned in bill.
Cons:
  1. You can not select medicines u want within App (but they ask u on phone abt which meds u want and how much quantity)
  2. You have to give original of Rx - I dont know why they need original
  3. They stamp the original Rx (without my permission)
  4. Person comes twice to ur home, which is waste of time / man power on their side. So u have to be present at home both times
  5. Bill is under retailers name and not PharmEasy
Pros:
  1. They send SMS as well as Email at different stages (similar to e-commerce companies) like order confirmed with name of person who will come to collect Rx, medicines dispatched, medicines delivered
  2. App is easy to use
  3. Person seemed well trained - He put documents well placed in a folder with order number.

I am not sure how they can afford this.
20% discount
Trained person who comes twice
SMS / Email costs etc

Medicine have huge margins. This is why chemists do not like the idea of online competition. They went on strike for a day or three around here few months ago.

I am using their service since December 2015 and they really give flat 20% off .. Its really remarkable that chemist refuse to give more than 5% .. The margins are really huge ...

My local Fortis and some other branded chemists give 10% but only to senior citizens 😀

Well my Dad-Mom are senior citizens, not sure if that is why they are giving it....

My local chemist was giving me 5% and home delivery. And I was happy about it.

And now I know about PharmEasy - I am like I lost so much money!!

My house consumes 2000Rs worth medicine per month!! 😀

Could have saved 300Rs extra every month.

Nope not nearby .. about 4-5 km away based on address.

So for me unknown shop but it cud be existing.

So the question is. Would you trust medicine purchased from an unknown store delivered by another unknown entity. I stick to one of the ten medicine shops in my local market because of trust factor even though the uncle at that shop gives me negligible discount.

I dont think its easy to fake exact wrapper in a day for all 4-5 medicines with same printed price and lot.

Does not look like fraud at all.

it's not about fraud in the process. it is about the supplier. counterfeit medicines exist. the problem is real. if the original retail store is selling them, you are getting them. the delivery service might have no idea that they are delivering counterfeit medicines. you need to realize the risk involved. because there is a risk involved. just saying. 20% discount is cool. but the risk is always going to be there. of course, this does not mean that your local guy is any less riskier in comparison.

exactly u dont know if local guy is less riskier either.

but the way they handled my order. The way the delivery man replied.. all looked quiet professional and trustworthy.

plus noone is going to make counterfeit of medicines which cost just 50Rs. Risk taken for fraud is too high for money earned.

I was also having doubts like you people .. They write the batch numbers on the bill so meds cant be fake .. Also I tied up with the chemist they sent meds via at 12% discount for those meds not on prescription ... 😀 .. Seriously 20% savings is a lottttt ...

Googled for the chemist and it does exist - Google has 2 photos of the store and 1 review too.

In short its a registered dealer. So can be trusted.
