Using Phareasy since December 2015 and very happy uptil now .. They need to revert back to the old system of one visit as Amish mentioned .. Otherwise to get 20% discount is not easy at all and it translates to quite a bit of savings .. In Mumbai another app has been launched called medit .. They offer 15% discount and are decent as well .. Some meds that pharmeasy is unable to deliver those I call from medit ..

Although I am happy with their service but now I have a feeling that they may be converting black money into white.

I am just speculating but I think this is what is going on in background.
  1. Tie up with medicine stores all over (offer them 5% to 10% per order)
  2. Tie up with original manufacturers (bulk buy at 35-50% discount)
  3. Take order from customer for example say order is worth Rs.100
  4. Purchase medicines from store on credit at full price
  5. Take money from from customer with 20% discount (i.e. Rs 80)
  6. In their sale book - add 20% of their black money from own pocket (black money converted Rs.20 per Rs100)
  7. From their own store - replenish (give back) the medicines to medicine store with 10% extra money (Rs.10 as their commission)
  8. Their own profit 5% to 15% (i.e. minimum Rs35-Rs20-Rs10=5Rs.)
So for every Rs.100 worth of order, they make upto 15Rs + 20Rs worth of black money converts to white

Plus medicine store owner get 10Rs for FREE without doing ANYTHING. His turnover also increases.

If 10Rs given as commission is also in cash then black money converted would be Rs 30 per order worth Rs100. (Huge conversion)

Note: Percentages above are just my guesses but thats the only way they can have profitable business.

Amish I feel they are offering a very nice service so lets not speculate that they are converting black money into white .. They are very big now so I dont think they can run such a racket I could be wrong ...

Today i ordered some medicines.

So they called back saying that prescription is now old and they dont accept prescriptions older than 6 months.

But they themselves gave me a solution.

They said they will register me with "JustDoc"

And after registration - some doctor created prescription for me.

And then they accepted the order!

Now funny thing is the patient has not met doctor / nor the doctor asked me anything via phone call or email.

Well for me - it was acceptable solution but doctors giving prescription without consulting is possible wrong.

Or it could be that medicines that I was prescribed were obvious medicines and hence no consultation was needed.

But in this case stock of pharmacy is reduced in accounts maintained and thus can create problems 4 them..

So today Pharmeasy started sending me delivery notification via Facebook.

Thats crazy because they are probably looking up by email / mobile and sending alerts.

I used to buy medicine from 1mg which I thought they are giving me enough discount on my medicines, but after long while I came across the PillsBills which is promising to give upto 70% discount on Cancer medicines, I was surprised to see same medicine at such dicounted price, it was around 50% off.

Was worried about the genuineness but went ahead with order only 1 Qty. I got the medicine delivered within two days and product is good. Now feeling like if i heard about PillsBills earlier, I could save much more.

PharmEasy seems to have started charging 25Rs delivery charges if your order (after discount) is < 500Rs.

So effectively for order value < 250Rs or so my local chemist would prove cheaper and faster delivery.
