QuantumZERO QZ-HB05 USB 3.0 4-Port 12V 2.5A Powered Hub

QuantumZERO QZ-HB05 USB 3.0 4-Port 12V 2.5A Powered Hub [VIA VL812 Rev B2 Chipset] [12V 2.5A Power Adapter included]: Amazon.in: Electronics

QuantumZERO appears to be sourcing their material from the same factories where Anker and Aukey seems to be getting their models. The product design, quality and packaging is uncannily similar. And they are quite cheaper compared to Anker here in India because of the direct importing process. I hope they launch USB-C accessories soon because Google appears to have no plans of their own.

how is the product doing ?

what speed transfers you get from PC to Ext USB file/media transfers

Are you able to use phone on it, will it charge and does it allow it to access phone as a MTP device ?

seems to be working fine.
since pi has a usb2 port, i cannot really test out proper speeds without shutting down the pi and disconnecting the device and connecting it to the usb3 port of my cabinet. too lazy to do that largely because i have to run a lot of commands manually on a freshly booted pi to get all my apps working (VPN, btsync, transmission, aria2).
Nokia feature phone charge fine on it. not sure if it would rapid charge a modern smartphone. i tend to avoid connecting my nexus 6p to anything other than the bundled charger and bundled usb-c cable 😛
nokia phone did show the option if i wanted it to be used as mtp device.

Why not create a script that automatically trigger at startup?

not sure if scripts can start a new screen and exit properly. plus i am learning a bunch of stuff keeping these apps running 24x7 😀 hopefully i would not be needing to restart pi for weeks in one go at least. 🙂
