Ok its sify broadband client version 3 for ubuntu & kubuntu linux and might just work for debian also. So the thing goes like this first download the below file:
Code:
http://mihd.net/kxq5ec
Its a debian package so you can directly install it like you normally install other packages. After installing if you open terminal and type "sifyconnect" you will get an error that "libssl.so.4" not found don't worry i have the fix for that, ok now the last step type the below text in terminal:
cd /usr/lib
sudo ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.4
sudo ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.4

In the end type in console "sudo sifyconnect -l" you will get login window asking for username and password enter the details and you're done.

I converted the RPM to DEB package using alien.
Please reply if this method works for you.

Goodluck!

Thanks buddy

write me a press release sort of an article so that i can publish it for public consumption.

Thanks for replying guys and Sushubh ill definitely write that article coz i dont want anyone to suffer like i did in the past.I am having RedHat package also, so if anyone wants that just lemme know.

For that i am constatntly trying to contact sify so that they can host this client on their own servers but for some reason no one is responding to my mails maybe i should directly contact sify cc

heh. don't contact them. they would change their login system to block your script from working on their system.

thanks a lot bro....but tht just worked half way n i got stuck.....i hav Ubuntu 5.10 n i hav installed the package...n later i got stuck and i get the error that "libssl.so.4" not found which u mentioned above....but wht do i do next ??? how to fix this....plz help me....

Loner,

This is awesome - did you actually manage to crack the latest Sify login / auth protocol?

I tried for a few days about a year ago and didn't get too far. I had already moved on to BSNL and it isn't exactly my cup of tea either, so I gave up. AFAIK nobody else has managed to crack it till date.

Any details you could spare on the process would be great - I think there are about 4 other clients (including mine) which work only with the old protocol (anyone using these clients has to tell Sify they're on Linux and then they activate the old protocol) and I'm sure there will be renewed interest in updating them.

Brian.

esquire_f14 dude just type in the commands given below:cd /usr/libsudo ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.4sudo ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.4But first install libssl version 0.9.8 coz i guess u will be having older version if u havent updated yet.

Hey esquire why are you building your client, The client which i downloaded is working perfectly now. iam able to login and logout easily. I will post the way to install the client. By the way update your Ubuntu copy. Get the new one 7.04(It rocks)

Is anyone getting frequent disconnects? 🙁 Also, thanks Loner for your efforts. :thumbsup:Can the login/password be console based rather gui? (So, that one can automate connecting in case of disconnects)

lol ... this is what sify is providing i managed to get the latest ver 3.0 rpm from sify itself i mean i know they suck ... but then they are providing the rpm's for the new ones and only this lol person has done taking all the credit by saying tht he has made it himself is that he has just converted the rpm's using alien and nothing else ... lol u aren't gonna leanr by saying u did it ... when sify never did it for u ... u said worst now when they are helping then atleast give them credit ... lol look what he said made himself ... noob
