Loner,

This is awesome - did you actually manage to crack the latest Sify login / auth protocol?

I tried for a few days about a year ago and didn't get too far. I had already moved on to BSNL and it isn't exactly my cup of tea either, so I gave up. AFAIK nobody else has managed to crack it till date.

Any details you could spare on the process would be great - I think there are about 4 other clients (including mine) which work only with the old protocol (anyone using these clients has to tell Sify they're on Linux and then they activate the old protocol) and I'm sure there will be renewed interest in updating them.

Brian.

Is anyone getting frequent disconnects? :( Also, thanks Loner for your efforts. :thumbsup:Can the login/password be console based rather gui? (So, that one can automate connecting in case of disconnects)

I will try out this client sometime in a virtual machine :) . Btw is it using the old login system which supersify and other client uses ? or the latest one which current sify broadband windows client is using ?wine + supersify = pwnage :D

I guess I spoke two soon two posts above..It worked for a while, albeit the frequent disconnects. Now I get a segmentation fault and a core dump. :(wine and supersify? time to try that I guess. works with the new protocol?EDIT: nope supersify does not work with the new protocol :( consequently, supersify does not work for me on windows eitherIm really hoping sify works well with linux so I can leave windows behind..

I don't get all these people saying it doesn't work with the new protocol. All you have to do is call up sify and tell them you're using linux and can't login with their client. Then it works. And yes supersify + wine = pwnage
