I am unable to setup my new chromecast with TP-Link WR740N router, tried playing around with settings but failed to configure it. I tried connecting it with my other router TP link 8951ND and it worked however i am no longer using that router for internet access. Please help.

Router purana hai aur usme koi MAC restriction nahi.

Finally got it working, used a laptop with chromecast web extension for the setup process. Strange as to why the android app failed.

Good. Did you update Chromecast to the latest version on your older router? Maybe an update fixed bugs that could have solved the issue?

Yes that may have helped as the chromecast was updated immediately after it connected to the internet.
But it was the same router, the one it refused to connect when i tried with my phone but with laptop got it done on the first try and the update was smooth, once it was complete i tried connected with my phone and streaming option was present.
