But he also said that it will be extremely limited launch where they will launch only in parts of Mulund and Malad.

They will gradually cover the whole city over the next 1-2 years.

^^1-2 years. This is a big deal from a backwards company who insulted Indian customers saying there is no need for 4G in India.

But now they have realized that 4G is required for faster data consumption in order to make more profits through data overages. 4G is also the current market buzzword and if you don't have 4G network, you are nobody.
 
Whatever they do - just dont stop 2G plans!! 😀

(Oops did I just give them idea to get more data consumption from customers?)
 
I hope Jio and other competition really boosts cheap fast internet access. Currently, options for fast internet access are few. The lack of competition is letting ISPs like spectranet take the customers for a ride.
 
been over a year and no sign of rollout anywhere ! 6months more for rjio. another 6 for vodafone.
rest of the world is testing 5G now !
 
Final news. Vodafone 4G has soft launched in Malad region of Mumbai. Few towers are up and running there. They have started mass deployments of 4G and should cover whole of Mumbai in 6-7 months.
 
Got my 4G SIM today. A scan for 4G network is showing me this (Dahisar East)

Not able to register on the network though. Does this mean that Vodafone is testing 4G signals in my area?
 
Saw LTE signal in Dadar. Unfortunately my new 4G sim which I got from Vodafone Store 2 weeks back shows no signal. Both the numbers on 4G sim are not able to register on the network. Idiots.

BTW Loop Mobile LTE is RJIO.
