There are a lot of idiot users in sify network. I am explaining my dialup experience with sify. Two months ago I was using sify dialup. There are a lot of user in sify dialup with minimal protection, most of them I think are cybercafes, but they allways try to hack other PCs. Whenever I was getting an message from Zonealarm, I just checked their IPs with available share. Most of the time I used to get the result of everything shared. I just opened explorer, Typed [\\210.214.1XX.XXX\c\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs], Went straight to their programs shortcut folder and deleted everything and put my text message that don't try to hack anyone. I was so used to this habit that I know them with their machine name. Surprisingly found many pcs which are still trying to hack without shame. The next day I went to their desktop & deleted evey shortcut & again put my text message. How funny the days were. Now-a-days I'm using VSNL dialup. Here more attackers are there but their Machines are more secure.

Duh. What a nice thing to brag about.

but the solution (putting the IP in banned List)will fail for systems with dynamic IP'sif yu r using a win98...the best thing to do is passowrd your sharesand patch your computer aginst a Vulnerablity discovered by nsfocusadvisory "NSFOCUS Security Advisory(SA2000-05) "there is also a tool that cracks the pssword..i wont mention it!i dont think for w9x there are more "critcical" netbios vuln.Opaserv worm spreads using this exploit to copy into a passworded share!

no it wont fail cuz the mans talkin bout local lan ips which r static 4 sify users.
