Allright for those people who cannot get their PCTV to work with SP2, here's the solution : -

1) If you have Nero 6 Installed you need to uninstall it. It causes problems with PCTV.. Or download an updated version I believe there is a patch available..

2) Then goto ftp://ftp.pinnaclesys.de/driver/pc/pctv and download the pctvstereofix.zip file from there.

3) Extract all files to a folder and then go to Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager and then select the PCTV card.. It should show that it it is not properly installed and then click to update the drivers and then tell it to search into the folder where you extracted the above files. It should install the new drivers and now your PCTV should work fine B)

I have posted this because I couldn't find this information anywhere on the internet. It just so happened that I was browsing the above ftp server and then I found this file by chance. Strange that Pinnacle didn't even mention it anywhere that they had released a FIX for PCTV

😀 THANK YOU!! 😀 I was like this  for a few weeks till I found your post.

glad to help!! 🙂

I solved it by uninstalling XP and then reinstalling after formatting my drive. Then Install PCTV and then install Service Pack2 because this will otherwise cause an IRQ conflict. This was what I was doing yesterday and today !!!

the PCTV software crashes here. so the tv tuner card is lying useless in my computer. think i would rather sell it to a friend.

thank you, i love you, the stereofix isnt there, but theres version 5.80 which im guessing is new, it doesnt mention it in there support either

The fix file is now called PCTVStereo_WinXP_SP2_WHQL.exe and can be found in the PCTV Stereo folder - here's a direct link

Also, I can confirm that the latest version of Nero (6.6.0.3) doesn't cause any problems with the PCTV drivers.

Thanks to Bhinder 🙂
