please go to any other provider than tikona, you might have Rajjnet or oodoo in pallikaranai. check it out. My experience is still worse than yours. its continuing for past 6 months.

Unfortunately, in my area there is nothing else. Last week they fixed something on the signal tower and the connection is slightly better now. though higher data plans are useless because the connection is not reliable enough to download anything.

Hi Victims of Tikona Fraud Model :

I intend to share this for the future fellow victims of TIKONA. If you have taken TIKONA you have already stepped into the TRAP. Tikona has a hardened fraud model to extort from it departing customers.

If you are going for a disconnection please note the below points :

1. Raise disconnection request well ahead 1 month of your bill-cycle end date.(though TRAI directs disconnection within 7 days/ but who cares for TRAI when even TRAI doesn’t care)

2. Speed Post written mail(hard copy, signed) to mumbai-Tikona headoffice (I am not sure how much a electronic mail is held valid in court)

3. Send the same signed mail in FAX to TIKONA(keep the fax receipt)

4. Obviously you will send electronic mail request for disconnection ( but they won’t respond & confirm to that in anyway)

5. Understand the actual trap now: Disconnection in Tikona does not mean deactivation of your user-id. And Tikona mentions that it can charge you on your user-id after disconnection based on further usage. Now How will you deny further Usage & prove non-usage ? Very Tough !

6. Hence only option (if you want prove non-usage in court) – Return the Tikona Device asap before the end of your bill-cycle

7. Now this is the tough part : Customer Care will talk all the non-sense things, will irritate you infinite times, and tell you all the false stories (like device is free/tikona doesn’t collect device/transfer the connection); DO NOT & DO NOT TRUST THE CUSTOMER CARE.

8. YOU NEED TO RETURN THE DEVICE AND COLLECT RECEIPT IN TIKONA LETTERPAD with dates before the end of bill-cycle, Keep photo id proof of the device collector.

9. Mail the soft-copy of the receipt to TIKONA again, and ask them to disconnect & deactivate.

10. After this happens, and after another 3-4 calls + 2 weeks you might receive FULL & FINAL settlement letter from TIKONA.

11. For me I fought hard for 20 days, posted in all consumer forums, and gone mad by no-response stand + false promises from customer care. The customer care will never ever confirm your request on mail. So do not trust whatever they say.

12. I have learned from the trend that the customer care is well trained & instructed to exactly follow the FRAUD/TRAPPING MODEL, it can not happen by mistake or by chance.

13. After all this also if one gets a Fraud bill, one can atleast raise a case against TIKONA, instead of TIKONA scaring the INDIAN citizens with all cheat advocate calls from the INDIAN CAPITAL DELHI.

14. So gist -> Speed Post Mail+Fax+email -> Return Device before end of bill cycle -> Keep receipt+collector ID+video(if you can) -> post in consumer forums -> Fight with customer care -> BLAME YOURSELF FOR TAKING TIKONA WITHOUT SEEING REVIEW

I took Tikona Broadband Connection on May4,2016.Earlier I had Tata Docomo and since the GBs they offered is less,I want to switch to Tikona.The Tikona sales guy told me if I opted for 3 Months Plan,Installation charges will be waived off.I took 2Mbps 50GB plan for Rs.750 and Paid 2250+Tax for 3 Months Subscription.

Speed & Service : From Day1,I never got 2 Mbps.Initially I was getting 0.5-0.8 Mbps and upon several request and calls,they replaced roof top device and getting 1.5-1.8 Mbps.I often face disconnection and slow speed issues till now.When I call to customer care,I takes more than 3 Mins to connect.However,I find the service personnel to be helpful to certain extent.

Installation Charge Waiver: I called customer care to find whether Installation charge has been waived off.

Dear Customer,

We have investigated your waiver request; we regret to inform that there is no waiver/discount applicable in your account for the disputed installation charge.

As per offer you are suppose, to pay amount of Rs: 2863.00/- for plan BBM2M750_KTN. The payment done by you is amount Rs: 2576.00/- which is less, hence offer not applicable.


I am totally surprised by this reply since the sales guy told to pay Rs.2576 and I paid whatever he told.Tikona is giving stupid reasons to cheat people.I will keep this connection for few months and switch to ACT when they launch their service in my Area.Tikona is No.1 fraudsters and hope TRAI will bring some regulation to punish these people.Please do not take Tikona and lose money.
 
4 years ago, I was a victim of Tikona. They collected 3850 through advocate by threatening over phone. And even after the scumbag advocate received my payment confirmation to Tikona, he didn't send me confirmation of the settlement. I had to personally drag my ass from Noida to Gurgaon in that sweltering summer to the court to get it sorted out.

I believe since there is no law for canceling the operating license of fraud ISPs, since this is India, and we only invent laws and regulations after the damages are already done, mostly when things become globally visible issues; the best we can to DIRECTLY DAMAGE these scumbags is by spreading the message to as many people as we can. Not as a duty, but as a responsibility as a good Samaritan.

We should all post about our issue and explanation to social networks, random review websites and news articles etc. No matter how unclear the impact may seem, I believe several people will see such comments and reconsider taking it. We can't make sudden or drastic or even steady changes to such legal loopholes like these, but we can change people's outlook one micro-percent at a time.

Good job, Anurag_04, you got smart and you set the example after getting hurt. But sadly most consumers just stay down after being pummeled to the ground by such annoyances and don't learn any lesson nor do they care. Guess not many of us know what the Butterfly effect is. How far the consequences of our actions go.

I am from Ghaziabad.
I am using Tikona from November 2014. At the time of installation, apart from installation charges and one month advance tikona took 1500 rupees for Router also. The installation guy took 1500 rupees and gave me a receipt for TP-Link Modem, But the cost of router was not shown on the first bill which was sent to me, neither in the coming bills. It was told to me by the installation guy that the Modem's payment is non-refundable and whenever i will handover my connection i don't have to handover the router..
From that time till January '16, I was using tikona, Or rather should I write Tikona was using me. I will try to keep my suffering part short, i will just say that It was such an awful experience using Tikona, that it changed my perception towards Delhi. That in Delhi also you can have such terrible experience using Internet, forget about small cities.
Form January '16 I stopped using tikona and paid the bill till last cycle. I just unplugged all the devices. And started mailing Tikona to disconnect my connection and take all the installations. But even after mailing them a number of reminders no reply came from there side. Tikona stopped my plan on 30th March'16 and sent me an sms which states that billing will be done on per mb basis if used and some monthly rental i will have to pay.
Again I called them and told them to please take the installations so the customer representative requested me to allow them tackle my problem by sending technical representative at my home, if not resolved then also, then they will take back the installations. I agreed and on 9th March the representatives came and they plugged all the installations and checked for the speed. Apart from changing my router's password and reinstalling its driver they did nothing. For that day the speed was fine but again from the next day only the speed dropped like anything and connection started disconnecting frequently. And then Tikona sent me bill of Rs. 594, on asking they said its generated on my usage. I told them for checking they will have to use some data, but they neglected my point. And today they have sent me a threatening mail that if i will not pay the outstanding money of Rs . 694 and Rs. 1500 for router, proper legal action will be taken against me.

Now tikona is saying that the charge of Rs.1500 was for "wi-fi charges", the router was Tikona's property, Now i don't know what on earth is wi-fi charges, if it is not Router's price. upon asking why it was not added in the bills only if it was wi-fi charges on which they keep mum.

I am not going to give them the router, until and unless they return me my money. I will take this thing to Consumer forum if it takes any ugly turn.

Even I am facing similar problems and getting calls from an advocate (mobile no. 7727855449) that I need to pay a pending payment which actually i have paid.Even the Representative, I called are confused with each person saying different month of payment pending. Any suggestions what I should do??

I am being harassed by Tikona. In Oct 2015 Tikona was thrown away by my society due to some dispute with tikona and RWA committee. Tikona never updated my about their service disruption. When I came to know the fact I request Tikona customer care to disconnect my services through mail communication and also paid the amount claimed by Tikona .They have never disconnected my account and keep sending bill and SMS. Thought I have mailed for disconnection multiple times.

In Dec 2015 I paid again all the amounts which they claimed as left. After that payment also they didn’t disconnect and keep SMS.

Now all outstanding amount has been paid in tikona portal showing it as rs. 0.0. Currently I am waiting for the confirmation that my account has been closed and they will not charge any more.

I just thought to make everyone aware that Tikona services are extremely poor. I am biggest sufferer and regretting a lot after opting for Tikona Internet, It's not at all reliable service.

I am residing in Varthur area and service is very poor. rarely you will find that Internet is working. Biggest cruelty is that you can't reach to their customer care number, Once you dial the customer care number you will be connected to IVR, which says "your connection is being tested by automated system and after that engineer will talk to you" Sometime it took more than 12-15 mins in connecting to service desk and after raising the ticket no body will visit you till next 24 hours.. This is how they work.

Mostly the problem used to be from Server side, I guess either their work in progress or they used to hold and release the connections, If you leave your laptop open and connected, You will see that all of a sudden connection lost and after couple of hours or in a day it is automatically restored. Even their own service engineer and customer care guy confess some time that problem is their from server side, We can offer outage for day 1 or 2 , we can't afford long internet outage everyday. It's big mental harassment. Deliberately they take 3 months rental in advance so that you can't run away.

I was warned by many people not to opt Tikona but I didn't had choice and also I didn't expect such a worst service. It's better to throw away money in drain rather than option for Tikona.
 
I was using tikona broadband upto December2015. Service was very poor. Every day we have to call customer care to get internet. Due to techenical problem I stoped the connection and paid the deceber bill(rentel stoped bill). April onwords they started sending bills again without using any data , Without antenna and cable connected. Several time I contacted coutomer care to resolve this issue. But no use.
 
Please confirm if anyone of you paid to tikona after you got the letter from Halai & co? Because I can only see the complaint against Tikona. But how it was resolved? I mean what was the final solution? Please share & help as I also got this letter last week to clear dues for service I didnt use?

My internet is working since 28June. raised request 1-4146301748 for the same,however internet is still not working. No body called me as to what's going on with my request. Request is still pending , and so my problem also.

Most of the time internet is not working for 5 mins to 1 hour, but this time it's not working for more than a day. Tried to reach out to customer care for the ticket status, but don't have any option to talk to anyone. This is really frustrating. Kindly disconnect my Tikona connection, and will switch to some other reliable vendor.

I have very very bad experience with tikona connection. bad feature of tikona connection are below.

1. 3-4 month back; They lie that there connection is login free. or they will soon make it login free. but it will not happen. even bsnl connection is login free and it gets connected again without any affort. tikona connection is lot waste of time as u need to follow up with customer care or wait to get it unlock and start working for at least 1 hr.
2. after few minute if connection not working, and u try to login again, it will get locked and then u need to call endless customer care to get it unlocked.
3. even if u r calling for simple query they will test ur connection for first 5 minture and in between if call drops then u keep trying.
4. connection not reliable as gets disconnect and does not get connected automatically.
5. now i have opted for close the connection. they are comming with lot many offer. but i do not want those offer and want to close connection and live with peace.

lets see drama has started.. i want to close connection and they insists so many things.
if service is bad then any make over does not work.
I will keep u posted about the problem and harrasment i face with tikona.
