Hi,I am having MTNL Triband Internet connection. I have tried to configure wireless connection to my existing MTNL connection. Currently I am having D-Link ADSL 502T wired router. Yesterday I purchased a Linksys wireless-G Broadband Router. Model no. is WRT54GC. In that router all the ports are for rj-45. I don't know where to connect my phone line port, which is of rj-11 type.I connected Internet port of linksys wireless router with my existing wired d-link router but no luck.My question is do I need d-link wired router (502T) in the whole wireless setup? If not then wireless router must have a port where I can connect my phone line rj-11 connector that I don't have currently.Warm Regards,Naseem Khan

Naseem, There is no need of dsl wired router if you have wireless router. I am surprised that yhere is no adsl port on it. It should have an adsl port, LAN ports and wireless port.Kindly recheck it or contact from where you have purchased the wireless router.

There is no need of dsl wired router if you have wireless router.....

WRT54GC Router that Naseem is using DOES NOT have ADSL port. Its a WiFi router not an ADSL modem.

Nassem,

You will need to either:
1. Purchase a device that is WiFI Router AND ADSL modem, will cost 5k+

OR

2. Configure Linksys router a bit differently.

My guess is D-Link is trying to assign 192.168.1.X IP to Linksys, and Linksys is trying to use the same range for PCs.

Just change DHCP IP in D-Link from 192.168.1.X to 192.168.24.x (24 is just an example) and that might fix the problem.

^ D-Link wud be in PPPoE mode and so wud be the Linksys..how can both dial together ?..my advice wud be to convert DSL 502T to ADSL modem by setting up bridge mode on it..and let linksys setup the connection thru PPPoE.

Thanks everyone.Cyber, Yes Now I somehow manage to do wireless setup. As per your reply, I did the same by running D-Link router in bridge mode and then Linksys wireless router is able to dial the number over PPPoE.Thanks once again.Warm Regards,Naseem Khan
