Since the last couple of days, my MTNL connection has been cursed with slow browsing, not very slow but it's slower than what I expect. I replaced their modem with a TP-Link modem+router, but nothing has changed. I've been testing the connection regularly using pings. The exchange tells me there's no server problem from their end, but if that's true and there's some other reason like wiring or something at my end, then how can I get varying ping levels?
In the morning, I had excellent ping times for 8.8.8.8 and my local MTNL DNS, but right now (evening), it's terrible. Even after re-starting the modem, it has hardly improved. Can someone explain what the problem really is? Here are the two screenshots:
