No More Sify!

I am leaving the SickFy Family ,... FinallyIt took me several months to made the stepNot because it was that hard , but because why changing a cockroach for a earthworm (in other words: why should i leave Sickfy and take another ISP , which is just as shit as Sickfy)And ofcourse the installation fee they asked....The new rule , If datatransfer >=150Mb/day , -1 Validity , was good enough to invite some Airtel Broadband dude to my house with the applicationformsSaturday this dude comes and installs it and i cant wait to unplug that SickFy cable from my NICAnyway....I have a ....whatever i have... here:We ( and soon YOU 😀 ) have choices between packages... 48, 64, 128 etc .... Now...i would like to know why Sicky gives me 12kB/s ( = almost 128kbps ) when i use a 48kbps I dont understand the logicWhat do u guys get with 48kbps , 64 and 128?Since this new rule of 150Mb/day i reach 12 Kb/s Maybe they wanna make sure i go over the 150Mb?48kbps is 450 , 128 is? how much? i dont know but i bet its more expensive than 48, so whats the point of taking 128?Strange!

well they would be making more money by limiting the amount of data on the supposedly unlimited packages... so increasing speed seems logical considering they wont have to suffer as a result.

For my 48 kbps un'limited' , I am able to get a constant 96 kbps from a while but I was wondering if only some lucky( or unlucky ) ones among us are getting this kind of speed . I would appreciate if others also inform about their SIFY package details and the speed they are nowadays getting.

I mean, these are diffferences between the packages, u pay more for 128kbpsBut then again, u get the same speed as 48kbps , and u have also the same restrictions, the 150Mb-rule So, tell me, what is the point of spending more money on a higher speed-package while u can have the same for less ( the 48kbps)it makes no sense

well.....for me it was a difference of 50 Rs......48kbps-450 Rs and 128Kbps-500 Rs.i don't mind that 50 bucks extra.

Thats teh reason why i spit................. rather puke on this company with their pathetic way of business and left them!Bah!

I just renewed with 48kbps pack. In morning i was gettin 96 kbps.....now in evening i am getting constant 64 kbps.....anybody else with same xperience

i think 48kbps monthly pack has a speed of 64Kbps.....atleast that is what my Sify Client is reporting, the 40Kbps unlimited month pack was also 64kbps.All monthly unlimited packs with speeds < 64Kbps are now having speeds 64kbps...Sify has also increased the speeds for the 2months packs as well.Just check the renew options in your client.

Sify thinks that they are the ISP kings... let airtel aarive in mumbai and those kings will be left with no work.... I am waiting for that day to come.Initially VSNL dominated the dialup and mtnl enjoyed the rewards of the pulse rated. Now sify is dominating the broadband and CTO are enjoying the rewards of maintanence charges......

Wouldn't the amount of data transferred be limited (hence bandwidth saved) by keeping our speeds low? How does increasing our speeds make Sify mroe profits then? Simultaneously imposing a 150 MB/day limit kidn of keeps the situation same as before and is like giving with one hand and taking away with another.

128 pack comes for Rs. 995 here in Delhi while the 48 one is for Rs. 450.

Btw I get around 80-96 kbps on my 48 pack too. Sify really has mindless packages, they seem to be looting people by charging more for the 96 pack when a 48 pack gives the same speed (though they could charge more for the 128 pack because it is certainly not close to the 96 kbps / 12 kBps pack in speed terms).

I used to have 2~4kB/s and since this 150Mb/rule, i have 10~13

But then, the speedpackages are nonsense then

Why pay more for 64 or 96 or 128 or whatever, if u reach the same with the 48kbps package

Such a losers they are, people who aint have a clue whats going on get fooled big time!

Last 15 days and only 3 days uptime for Sify. It %@#$% annoying . I am with no choice left cos sify is the only one left in our area 🙁 . Tata guy is asking it will take them 15 more days to provide me the new connection (I applied on 26th may) . Have applied for MTNL also . Now just waiting for both tata and mtnl before getting sify disconnected for good. So moral of the story (which is known to all of u ) DON'T GO FOR SIFY 😀
