IS porting like MNP ( mobile ) available for D2H also???

Not as of now, government was trying to draft a regulation around this a while ago but not much progress happened AFAIK

Talk of portability has been going for a decade. Not going to happen - I feel.

I'm seriously hoping that DTH alternate Digital TV providers introduce some good services soon... I can't take this price increases anymore 🙁

I have high hopes on Reliance Jio for launching Digital TV on their wired / fiber network

Thank God! Just few weeks back I upgraded my SD box to HD for ₹1500 with 1 year free HD access [emoji39]

Now they have replaced Mega Packs with ultra Packs. Annual Mega HD which costed Rs. 7500, now the similar new annual Ultra HD pack costs Rs. 8000. This is another blow to the customers. Additionally, ultra packs does not include any actve services except actve darshan. However the annual ultra pack includes 10 free showcase titles as opposed to 6 in mega pack. For me it's useless as I hardly ever use those free titles.

Note that the closest package to Ultra pack is the Grands Sports pack which costs Rs. 5335/year. And with the hike of HD Access fee (Rs.1925/annum), it would cost Rs. 5335 + 1925 = Rs. 7260.

What the hell is HD access fees?

Fee to access HD channels.

Subscription packages only include subscription to SD channels and you have to pay HD access fee to get HD channels. The number of HD channels you get for the fee is dependent on your base package, that is, if you have access to SD channel in the package you have subscribed you get the access the HD feed of that channel.

Therefore, in order to watch a HD channel you have to have its subscription in SD and you have pay HD access fee.
