i've been wondering what is the real reason behind the unwillingness of any company offering unlimited 2mbps connections???i personally think it is because of two reasons--1--they do not care enough about domestic consumers as they make plenty of money selling bandwidth to corporates, call centeres etc 2--cuz they are a little scared that if they do giv unlimited 2mbps connections then it will become very easy for smaller players to resell their connections under a lan setup like sify. here the speed will be shared between the users but if they keep 1:8 to 1:10 connection to user ratio they can easily gurantee min 256kbps speeds to all consumers at all times of the day and upto 2mbps!the second theory might seem a little too far fetched but i think charging Rs300 for these connections can be a very successful business model as the demand for such connections is also very much there from less wired segment of the market.(or the 'email readers')as far as mtnl and bsnl go they will upgrade their unlimited accounts to 2mbps the next day after somebody like airtel announces 2mbps unlimited(or alternately if a minister really wants to make a impression.. so i could have expected something like that from maran but not this new mantri)what do u think is the reason?
