Hello,

I wanted to get BSNL Broadband connection (the only option!) but the nearest landline pole is nearly 400m far from my home. I've to ask them regarding this but at this time, can someone from you tell me if there is any hope to get connection here?

And if they say that they can't than is there anything I can do?

Hoping for a quick reply, thank you! 🙂

thats way too far, i highly doubt it, esp. with bsnl

I guess so! 🙁

I'm in the middle of different poles (three, actually!) of BSNL landline/broadband but all of them are far from my home! :banghead: Nearest one is about 400 m away and the rest 500-600 meter away! :russianroulette:

So, is there any little bit of chance for this? Anyway by which I can convince them to give connection?

have you talked to them ? the pole is just few meters away from my house but still the bsnl guy was hesitating at first but gave the connection after 15 days, these bsnl people just want to avoid any type of work

I haven't yet talked to them! Maybe I'll go to their office today or tomorrow.

By the way, yes they just avoid to do any work but I hope they won't simply ignore my request. 😛

yes, good luck for that 😛
They said that they can't give connection to that far area. 😛

Also, they asked me to convince at least 10-11 peoples to get broadband or landline connection. 😡 Because they can't face loss and making of new DP pole cost them lakhs. :banghead:

Now... I've decided to be with BSNL 3G because of having no choice. 😛

Good thing that some of my neighbors still have BSNL landline otherwise I would have been left with a disconnected Airtel connection at home. I can't believe they actually asked you to convince people .

Nothing surprising about it. Most ISPs would require commitment from more than a few people before laying down wiring for a brand new locality. It is quite costly to lay down wires as there are additional costs of paying bribes to local cable operators, goons and of course government officials.

If you deal with the line man, most of the time you will get connection. But there is no guarantee that the line will be disturbance free. Disconnection, low speed etc can make you go mad. But always better than nothing.

Any area without decent internet connectivity today should have enough customers seeking a better service provider. Times are quite different now. Everyone needs a reliable internet connection at home. It is no longer a luxury that you can ignore.

Mobile broadband is always there Shushub. People take land line based broadband for downloads. There are no YouTube videos that is a must to watch. For domestic ( non luxury ) needs, 3G or even 2G can help more than you can imagine. And may be you should try other niche. I am from a small place and people still think that laptop is something only rich can get. 🙂
