had a week long vacation in goa recently. was great. but slightly over hyped. like every one in goa thinks tht ur a fool with a bloody truck for a wallet. wanted to hire a bike... chk this out a unicorn came for about 200/- per day, while the karizma was 450/-, bullet 250/- and pulsar 199 (?)/- per. but the most gagging part was... the bikes had to be returned by 7.00 in the eve. even if u had booked it at 5pm. it felt like sify was running the place here. second bad experience > at a club called 'cubana' no probs with the ambience and the crowd. the place is excellent believe me. but the bloody music not only did away with my mood but also with many ppls drinks. on enquiry about the 'DJ' it was known that he played 'Heephop' only and tht the man was 'down' with the crowd and from the states... so he was good (?). FACT >he was a bloody poser who didnt know wht the hell he was doin there. good point - the booze was on the house. the beaches were clean. no sign of the 'ghats' tht u usually encounter. the weather was bloody pleasent. all in all its an amazing tourist dest. but guys really lets reduce the hype...

They are illogical. 😀So i'll never visit GOA!

Hi guys, was in goa about 3 months ago. For me it was expensive but no so much. Been to few places. I know the place that bhinder is talkin about. I was there just before the exposition. The roads are excellent, used the bus most of the times & pleasently used to fall asleep good roads, good buses unlike Pune here. The cabana was playin blues at that time which is my favorite. Nice & easy going. The good thing about Goa is if u're a drinker or a social drinker like me. People are friendly & the beer as well as the port wine keeps on flowing. It has its own charm. If one lives in South Goa then rooms are cheaper there & also very silent. North Goa is more commercial & hence expensive.

well fenny the first time i disliked it, the second time I could drink it the third time I started liking it. Something which can grow over period of time & also where u drink it, i think that also is part of it.

dude... first of all... heheh. the nick's dethbinder... no offense bhinder. hope there's none taken. ofcourse south goa's better. all the major 'non-popular' places are there. like mini vagator n stuff. not crowded like the other beaches. n believe shirishag75 when he talks about the drinking. damn... i should start agin. but i gues goa can do tht to u. anyways would be great in the rains now... only thing is tht u cant hire a bike n u have to be damn careful on the beaches... lightning can strike anytime!!! 😱 hehe.

The other part of this is that in goa if u're an non-drinker u're supposed to be peculiar. Smokin is not so much popular & for a guy who likes to smoke Ghutang Garam, this is doubly shitty. Only couple of places in the main mkt. where one could buy this. Same situation in Varanasi also, only couple of places where one can buy the good stuff. I guess that goes for everything in life !

I was looking forward ,,,to hv splash in GOA............but now I will rethink.......

Am doing my final yr engg. Me and my classmates hv planned to go to GOA for our INDUSTRIAL VISIT this year 😀 ( dont laugh ..)Its well known that there isnt any (big) industry to visit. But being in final year, v cant be nuts going to some real industrial plant or some factory and have a tuf time there :lol:V are firm abt GOA , but this %$&$&%&^% HOD is stricly against us. Hes asking for some industry name in GOA. Where the hell will i go and find one !!!Help me !! If u knw any industry in GOA ( small or big ) , pl let me know. But it shoud not take more than 2-3 hours to finish off the visit coz v are visitn GOA not for the real purpose, INDUSTRIAL VISIT. Hope u get my point. 😛 Dummy names are welcome but let it hv a GOAish touch 😛

My experience in Goa can be summarised as follows :1) Indians who come to visit goa are given third class treatment by the locals as compared to the treatment they give to firangis.2) The only business in Goa seems to be tourism as each and every Tom, Dick and Harry has a bike of his own to give out on rent.3) Luckily, I stayed in Royal Palms, so the place where we were staying was great. But outside the hotel, everyone is drunk. It is as if people cannot drive properly without being drunk. IMO being drunk once in a while is okay , but constantly being drunk is bad.4) Well, the police never catch a firang without a helmet, but we got caught. That made my trip real great. Plus, the person who rented me the bike did not include 2-3 papers in it, so basically it was "500 Rupees ka fatka".5) My suggestion is that, if you want to go to goa, use a tourist service like Raj Travels or some cheaper local service. That way you wont get too much looted.

i still remember "benaulim", it has a restaurant from where you get a clear view of the sea...we usually sat there from morning till evening.....ate a lot....drank a lot and still the bills came out to be round about Rs 200.There was this guy from England who sang at that place every Sunday.I think the restaurant's name was "pedro's restaurant"....animals move freely around here like Geese n others that we indians are not used to seein in the cities. We stayed at some guy's cottage(looked like a penthouse) nearby benaulim beach, it had a swimming pool n a bar. Paid like Rs 1200 for 3( we were 3 friends taking a break after graduation) and stayed there for a week. The best time to go is August...we didn't mind seein the carnival as such, July/August being off season, u can get better places at cheap rates. In between we went for a job interview and also got it but never got back to the company.also internet is very cheap in Goa, it seems, when we were at Margao we used to get dialup at Rs 5 for an hour....ehhh.I bought some red wines from the place and 2 huge bottles of fenny...also had to take the required permit to carry on train.nice memories......

well i went goa 12 years agoand as my mom is a govt servant and we had some contacts in labour ministry back thenthey got us fixed in a govt lodge complete with ac and car for our excursions and meals all for FREE we stayed there for a week and visited nearly everything(well thats what i thought)but i came to know later that my parents never took me to the beaches where firangi's hang and ever since i have been lobing for going to goa but u guys are scaring me

I still have to visit Goa.. never been thereIm curious how the partyscene is, how expensive it is compared to what ive seen the past 4 years in India...Im a partyfreak myself, ive been to huge parties in my country Holland, 30 to 40.000 people on the spot, every1 going crazyMy latest party was in Thailand, on Koh Phangan island, the full moon parties..awesome and wild...I wonder if GOA will give me the same thrill as ive had many many times before...Someday,when i found some people who wants to join i really should check it out!!
