Compatibility of Apple iPhone 6 on Airtel 4G LTE

Chances are you paid at least Rs.50,000 to get what is considered one of the coolest, most technologically advanced and aspired-for mobile devices in the world—the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Unfortunately, if you’re an Airtel user in the national capital region of Delhi, then you’re perhaps better off with Micromax Yuphoria, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G or Nokia Lumia 638, all of which cost less than Rs.8,000. This is because as technologically advanced as the Apple devices are said to be, users of the latest iPhone still can’t access the now month-old 4G services in the national capital provided by Bharti Airtel Ltd.

“The devices are optimized for American spectrum standards and cannot access the particular sub-band on which we have to provide the 4G services in India,” an industry official, requesting anonymity. “We are working on fixing the problem. It is working for all other 4G devices from Samsung, Micromax and others,” he added.

My Moto Turbo is also probably not supported. It is not the fault of Motorola or Airtel. It is the fault of the fucking Indian government.

I'm laughing at this. I have 4G, and my friends won't.

Why don't you use 3G? Because 4G is useless in India.

I have Airtel 3G but i only get 2G speed here in Delhi.

3G, 4G. Indian markets are not ready for these technologies yet.

My advice - Don't waste your money to buy 4G phones. 4G is impractical for Indian markets at least until next couple of years.

Its not govt fault. Its fault of Technical consultants who may have recommended such technical specification to be set as standard.
Besides when it comes to Technology, differences exists everywhere, whether its PAL/NTSC TV Broadcast, GSM/CDMA mobile network, Left/Right Hand drive vehicles, etc

good luck finding decent phones without 4g. people do not buy 4g phones. they buy phones that come with 4g bands. people who care about 4g would buy devices that come with support for operators they prefer. it is as simple as that. i did not buy moto turbo because it has 4g support. i bought it for other reasons. now it does not support most/all indian 4g bands and i am ok with that.
