First Unread Post using Ajax on Forum

I am not sure if it is of any use to you guys. But now you can click on a + button to check the last unread post on the forum page itself.



Tell me here if it makes the forum slower/buggy for you guys.
 
I do not see any + button before the topic titles ! usingfirefox and java script enabled . also checked it on IE ...
 
umm its only for forum and search pages... and it works fine on opera and firefox. on linux as well 😀kind of jerky in opera... but works fine.
 
as Amish said , perhaps I was looking at the main index page . now I got it on the forums' index pages ...
 

duh. its supposed to show the last post in the thread and i only get the first post all the time 🙁buggggggggggg.
 
it may not be a bug. sometimes when u read title of thread u just intend to see what question is asked originally without opening full thread. so that may be helpful in that case.but yes even i wud prefer first UNREAD post and if possible all posts after i last saw the thread. and may be quick reply included as well. LOL. asking for too much. but then i can do away with multiple browser tabs.
 
heh... 😛ok. i am also considering installing the add-on which would show the first post of the thread in all the pages. important to remind the users of the original motive of the thread...the problem is that it would result in duplicate content 😀multiple tabs is better than multiple windows. that's what u would have to do in internet explorer 6. 😉
 
i think addon u added is actually to show first post. u need addon which shows last unread post.
 
nanner. the addon is named as such... but it offers three options:show first postshow last postshow the latest unread post... i have the third option selected. vb has been quite buggy for me when it comes to last unread post especially when you have been online for quite sometime... it still shows me 3-4 posts old on some threads...

it always shows me first post. infact when i hover my mouse on + sign it shows "click here to read the first post"

i cleared 3 js scripts of this forum from squid cache. tried without proxy. but in both case it was as above. is there any kind of setting?
