MTNL DSL was down for the entire day and their customer care phone was engaged all day long!!..that sucks.

Thats common to BSNL too !The ADSL link remains off for sometime/days and I think they do some maintainance or upgradation work.A power/equipment failure might be the culprit...

yup....i'm in delhi....my speeds are never constant .vary from 24-28 but sometimes 30 ....agnivo....actually the adsl light is on and i can open thee router config page...but i cant visit websites.....it started working 5 mins back.

Oh! then check ur router log when no data is flowing and u can't browse You might find errors like :"Couldn't get channel noumber,Transport endpoint is not connected, doing disconnect, etc..."I had experienced this type of error previously. The link led is on, but no data. Usually happens if the connection to dslam card is lost, due to maintainance or by malfunction. Just placed a fault booking call and the next day, they inquired about the matter, took a note of the error message and the matter was rectified...

till now i haven't had a problem of DSL being down, hope it remains the same...though i agree 100% with jammy that their CC numbers are busy the whole day, even at night...whenever u try, it will give u an "engaged" tone...still, it is better than sify!! 😛

24-28 kbps is not a good speed......bcoz there are very few subscibers of triband at the moment.....what will happen when customer base grows/?????Damn...we dont have BSNL in Delhi

i agree with u, it's not at all a good speed, and am not getting more than 25 kBps :angry:btw, it hardly matters on BSNL or MTNL, the speed is dependent on ur line quality and distance from the exchange...and the international gateway for both BSNL and MTNL is the same, VSNL...correct me if i'm wrong, someone 🤔so, check on those things...ur line and distance...and DSL in itself means a dedicated bandwidth...unlike cable...

But ADSL dosen't guarantee u a connection which is as stable and consistent as a dedicated leased line ! Plz keep that in mind too ! 😀

well, leased line???an average home customer wouldn't like to pay more than Rs. 500 - Rs 1000 per month in any case, and leased line??????????? 🙄

Agree with u. But what I just said was to make u known that such differences in speed and uptime is inherent in ADSL connections. And that too when the ISP has just begun the service...Don't forget it's a sarkari service...so have to experience a little ups and downs !!! 😀

for sure, i totally agree!!!but u'd also agree that it's far better than Sify, coz i really never needed the CC, though it's never available!! 😉and before we lay the blame on MTNL, first those things to be checked what i already said...coz with that speed, i'm still not cribbing  and guys, here's my last night's record...Sessions recorded on 5-Jun-2005Bytes Uploaded - 229265002Bytes Downloaded - 638251261Telephone No - BRAS09000000103 (not mine 😉 it's the same all the way through, seems some server or something) Logged In Time - 6/5/05 12:08:51 AMLogged out Time - 6/5/05 8:00:31 AMDuration (HH:MM:SS) - 7:51:40it's around 608 MB...so, am quite content with one movie per night 😀

I have not used a personal sify bband connection, as it's not available in kolkata. But as far as I know from the experiences of sify users, DataOne and Triband is simply ahead of sify... 😀Have 3 i-ways in my locality...used to surf before having dataone...well, the speed a decent but it's costly! The cafes are connected by microwave. 😱

don't bring ur head in between agnivo, everything will get fried....hahahahahaha

Means ?The phone no,etc. u had posted seems they are using ISDN etc. !The ISDN BRA/BRI terms there seems to be common !!!
