i know that my router is faulty.....i lodged a complaint 2 days back and no one has still attended to it....frustrated, i sent them a mail to discontinue my account,.....lol....they havent even replied to that!!.....they suck big time!!

For those who are using MTNL TriBand broadband .... My D-Link DSL-502T modem-router packed up Sunday 26th June in the afternoon, after working faultlessly for two months. So I complained to 1504 and took a complaint number: 19808 at 3:15 PM. I was given the usual suggestions and talk ... all pointless. I recorded that the modem had failed while I was on-line and that only the power light was on while all the other lights had gone off. I also recorded that I had done the usual shut down and reboot and checked all the connections by removing and re-inserting them. I was told to wait for 'someone' ... even on a Sunday evening. I was surprised. Anyway, as expected nothing was done and I was back on Monday at about 10AM to 1504 asking about some service. I was given some phone numbers to call for speedy service. I found that on one attends to those numbers. I called all day and again phoned 1504 in the late afternoon and was asked to call some other numbers, which I refused. I said my complaint stands and that the lady recording it should do the followup. Again nothing. Later someone called and again I explained the problem and right away asked for replacement modem. I was told person would come shortly. No one came and on Tuesday morning I again called 1504 giving my complaint number and now demanding action. The lady again tried to put me off by asking me to note down some phone numbers. I again remined her to do her job and not to pass it on to customers. A couple of times in the day, someone called and said some one was on the way and would come shortly. Both the Prabhadevi and Lallubhai Phone Exchanges kept making 'kind inquiries' but no action. On Wednesday, 1504 told me that the complaint had been closed since some had phoned me many times. I laughed and told her to re-instate the complaint since she had failed to verify with me if my problem was solved. She tried to give me new complaint number which I politely refused, saying what I needed was a modem not new numbers. I decided to visit the Lallubhai Exchange and took the faulty modem with me and 'forced' an exchange. I took a entry pass at the gate, went to the second floor to the DE office and raised my voice and got service. The various chaps there tried to give me the run around, but I had 'decided to bring back a working modem'. So I told them I had come for service since I am paying customer and that they could do the running around and that I needed a working tested modem. They tested three modems before finding a fourth which worked. After one and one half hour I was on my way out with a modem which worked. The lesson .... do not waste time expecting service, lodge a complaint and show up at their office and force the issue. Take your last phone bill and blow hot and cold and get the job done. Its faster and they learn the lesson of giving service which was not taught to them. So you have to be the tutor. Not to get angry, but to be persuasive and relentless. It works. Best wishes.

well, you can expect that with gov. officials...they won't move their asses if u don't force them to!!!btw, MTNL in delhi was down today...i experienced it around 6 am to 10 am...i didn't check after that...is anyone also affected by this???
