iPhone 5S not latching on Airtel 4G LTE

So looks like sim is faulty now, as 4g LTE activation is a simple task. CC guys are mostly ignorant people in each and every operator. The band actually used is 40 and not 4.

^^ Thanks. When I put my number online to check, the website says that you are not using a 4G compatible sim. So putting a request for free 4G sim 2nd time.

Clearly it is issue of 4G service not enabled on my sim. But Airtel refuses to acknowledge. They say that "Saar, aapke number pe 4G activated hai." End of topic.Then they yap about my phone being faulty and blame Apple for falsely advertising 5S being compatible with Band 4 LTE of Airtel 4G.

Nothing makes sense. 4 Customer care persons have said the same thing about Airtel 4G being deployed on Band 4 in Mumbai.

As far as I know, Airtel 4G in Mumbai is only on band 40 (2300 Mhz, TDD LTE)

All of a sudden my 5S is now showing LTE. Speedtest gives me consistent speeds between 40-50 Mbps.

However, my new budget phone Lenovo K3 Note gives me between 60-65 Mbps at the same spot. So Airtel has not yet started to throttle speeds in Mumbai. Enjoy till it lasts.
