Hello guys,where will i find latest firmware for my UT-300R2 modem? And how to upgrade it and is it necessary to upgrade it?

if a new firmware is available then it will be available
from UTStar web site only ! ( Registration at UTStar
site is required ) pls contact UTStar
And UT-300r2 reported to be a stable modem . so
upgrading firmware is not necessary if you have no
problems with it !

its not like upgrading with the latest firmware.. ur speeds would increase.. so.. no big deal i guess..

Any other user who has the same modem, and knows how to extract the latest version can help. UTSTAR/Huawei do not post FW updates in their websites /forums and always advise us to contact the ISP.
This is the firmware version details given in MTNL user'r guide PDF link.
Advise by @amish and @sushubh are important.
Do not upgrade FW unless absolutely necessary, and you are sure MTNL/BSNL will exchange a "Door Stopper" modem!
:O Para twof course modifying FW versions with WRT, "tomato" etc is beyond the scope/ of most BB users.( include me too ).
PS: see one small letter or prefix missing could make a big difference in FW version.
