    Cherrinet - 200 Mbps - 2 TB - Chennai (Review)

Cherrinet's downward spiral begins. Tata routing as usual rubbish. Although this could just be Cherrinet not buying enough bandwidth from Tata.

Cherrinet website potentially compromised as My Account link takes user to spam page?

Is the Cherrinet portal compromised? Clicking on the 'My Account' link on their homepage redirects to some third party site with ads. I also noticed they aren't defaulting to https, not sure if this was the case earlier as well.

    Cherrinet - 200 Mbps - 2 TB - Chennai (Review)

Has anyone tried the bundled STB? BTW if I understand this right, in xPON they have a single fiber leading in with each apartment spliced in. Doesn't that affect bandwidth and/or cause packet loss/choke with everyone using the same fiber? Isn't the ACT method of having a router to sort out...

Just got this from my neighborhood sales guy. Not seeing this on their site though. Also he wasn't clear why its unlimited for us but had limits for SME plans.

Whats the cheapest Airtel Landline "phone " only plan?

I kept my Airtel broadband active, for the landline number too. They offered varied discounts from 50% to 75% on my 1499 plan, and ideally that would've been alright, except they kept making errors in the billing and I'd need to call up and yell and get it manually corrected. Kept asking CC for...

    Cherrinet - 200 Mbps - 2 TB - Chennai (Review)

Seeing packet loss to steam/valve servers. Did a tracert and looks like it's dropping on the Tata side of the network. Cherrinet seem keen to fix the issue, however they are understandably confused since their network looks alright.

    Cherrinet - 200 Mbps - 2 TB - Chennai (Review)

Cherrinet offered fiber at our apartment complex, so I snapped it up :) Getting 200Mbps on Speedtest to local and SGP servers. Oddly, speeds on Fast.com are only 11~20 Mbps. Are they really separately measuring Down + Up data limits? Their interface doesn't seem to indicate so. For some reason...

Airtel V-Fiber (VDSL) - Link Drop & Other Issues [HELP]

I was having high latency on the Ethernet ports of the Beetel 777VR1. Pings to the router would suddenly slow down to 1000ms, and only a reboot would fix it. Sent in a mail giving them feedback for future firmware updates. For some reason they misinterpreted it and sent the Airtel line engineer...

Airtel Broadband is pushing plan upgrades over Smartbytes

Same and same city. Assuming you downgrade to the Rs. 999 - 100GB plan and opt for this Rs. 500 top-up, won't you get 300GB for 1499 , which is more than the offered 225GB?

Airtel Broadband is now offering 40mbps plans in Chennai

Question : How long should it take for the modem to connect on VDSL? I've noticed mine takes about 3 mins, but I'm quite sure my earlier ADSL modem would be connected in say 30 secs at most.

Router Recommendations for Airtel Broadband V-Fiber

Are you connecting wirelessly to the beetel? I too had ping spikes when using the wifi interface of the beetel, which disappeared when I switched to another wifi router.

Airtel V-Fiber: Airtel Broadband 40mbps VDSL Migration

Is anyone noticing unusually high data consumption after migration to VDSL? I know at least 2 people complaining of their FUP expiring very early in the month, and thought it might be due to video streaming services. But after I shifted to VDSL, downgraded my plan to 4Mbps, and facing...

Airtel V-Fiber (VDSL) - Link Drop & Other Issues [HELP]

Not FTP. Firmware updates are automatically done by Airtel remotely through TR-069 (Advanced > CWMP). My connection was mostly stable before the update, so I cannot comment on the new firmware. Is anyone aware what chipset Beetel are using in the 777VR1 ? I telneted in and saw a Realtek RTL8672...
